NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR WOMEN (NOW) is an organization that works to promote judicial, social and economic equality for women. For more information, contact one of the Cocoordinators listed below.

MEETINGS
Sun Cities / West Valley NOW
First Wednesday of the month, 1pm. Watch paper (Daily News Sun) for time and location.

July and August meetings are in members' homes.
You are cordially invited to attend. Our members come from Sun City, Sun City West, Sun City Grand, Peoria, Suprise, Glendale and environs.

ACTIVITIES

--Members of NOW actively work for LEGISLATION that supports the rights of women and children.

--WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH EVENT
Every year we stage an event, usually in March, to celebrate women in history. The proceeds help to provide either a scholarship for a female student or shelters for women.

--GOLDEN APPLE AWARD. An award given annually to an individual who done something outstanding in support of women.

1997 awardee was Arlys Angelique Endres, 10 year old Phoenix girl. She was recognized for her letter-writing and fund-raising efforts to have the Woman Suffrage Statue moved from the basement of the U.S. Capitol Building, Washington, D.C.

1998 awardee was Kit Prestwood, director of the Women's Resource Center, ASU-West, for development of student support services and outreach to the surrounding community.

1999 awardee was Tanya Griffith, a Sun City woman. She helped raise the awareness of women's history through her unique protrayals of the lives of outstanding women.

2000 awardee was Janet Napolitano, Attorney General for Arizona, for her leadership in women's issues.

2001 awardees were Nella and Marty Martinez, in recognition of their leadership of the Dysart Community Center.

2004, Kyrsten Sinema, in recognition of her activism for the cause of women and children.

2005, Roselyn O'Connell, in recognition of what she has done for women. Former president of U.S> Women's Political Caugus.
