College of St. Antoninus
Welcome one and all to the webpage for the College of St. Antoninus.
Designed to complement the information found on the Brock Middle Ages and Renaissance Club's main page, located at Http://www.webspawner.com/users/bmarcWithin the Brock Middle Ages and Renaissance Club there exists an opportunity for students to attend a ficticious Medieval college, called St. Antoninus.
There are two degrees available at St. Antoninus, (neither of which are recognized by Brock University or by the outside world).
The First of these is the Fellowship: One who has completed the curriculum of core and elective classes is called a Fellow of St. Antoninus. The program is designed for a newcomer to gain the information and experience necessary to enjoy our style of living history.
The requirements for admission to the degree of fellowship shall be:
- Basic Courses
- Basic calligraphy
- Courtesy and Etiquette
- History of Costuming
- Basic Heraldry
- Basic Dance
- FOUR (4) other elective classes.
The Second of these is the Lector Arte or Lector Scientae: One who has become a fellow of the college already, and wishes to study further and in greater detail, either in the medieval Arts or Sciences.
The requirements for admission to the degree of lector shall be:
- Science

- Arts

- FOUR (4) other elective classes.
The Third of these is the Doctorate: One who completes a self-designed degree approved by the Masters of the College. This program is designed to encourage and support independent research in a particular area of interest.
Within the College, as in any organization, there is an internal structure of job duties and areas of repsonsiblity. However, since we are modelled after a 'Real' Medieval college, the titles are historically accurate to match the job description.

Personal Note from the Rector:
I am a 2nd year history and english lit major, taking advantage of studying Medieval History at the University of Wales in Swansea. This dosen't mean that I've abandoned my office. I am meerely on a study sabbatical. I regret that I shall have to wait until next school year to see many of you, but I shall have wonderul things to share upon my return. The SCA, (Society for Creative Anachronism) has been like a second home for me since I left the Canadian Navy. So, that means I joined a few years ago, and have enjoyed every moment since. I have met SCA-dians in many different Kingdoms, incliding Caid (Hawaii), An Tir (Oregon, BC, Washington), Ealdormere (Ontario) and soon Drachenwald (Europe). I am involved in medieval rapier, and enjoy woodworking, leatherworking, calligraphy, painting, book binding, costuming, persona development and so much more. While I am studying abroad I will be maintaing contact with all of you through e-mail and ICQ. I hope to see you all when I return in July 2001.
