Stress is a term that is commonly used today but has become increasingly difficult to define. It shares, to some extent, common meanings in both the biological and psychological sciences. Stress typically describes a negative concept that can have an impact on ones mental and physical well-being, but it is unclear what exactly defines stress and whether or not stress is a cause, an effect, or the process connecting the two. With organisms as complex as humans, stress can take on entirely concrete or abstract meanings with highly subjective qualities, satisfying definitions of both cause and effect in ways that can be both tangible and intangible. The term stress had none of its contemporary connotations before the 1920s. It is a form of the Middle English destresse, derived via Old French from the Latin stringere, to draw tight. It had long been in use in physics to refer to the internal distribution of a force exerted on a material body, resulting in strain. In the 1920s and 1930s, the term was occasionally being used in biological and psychological circles to refer to a mental strain, unwelcome happening, or, more medically, a harmful environmental agent that could cause illness. Walter Cannon used it in 1926 to refer to external factors that disrupted what he called homeostasis. Homeostasis is a concept central to the idea of stress. In biology, most biochemical processes strive to maintain equilibrium, a steady state that exists more as an ideal and less as an achievable condition. Environmental factors, internal or external stimuli, continually disrupt homeostasis; an organisms present condition is a state in constant flux wavering about a homeostatic point that is that organisms optimal condition for living. Factors causing an organisms condition to waver away from homeostasis can be interpreted as stress. A life-threating situation such as a physical insult or prolonged starvation can greatly disrupt homeostasis. On the other hand, an organisms effortful attempt at restoring conditions back to or near homeostasis, often times consuming energy and natural resources, can also be interpreted as stress. In such instances, an organisms fight-or-flight response recruits the bodys energy stores and focuses attention to overcome the challenge at hand. The ambiguity in defining this phenomenon was first recognized by Hans Selye in 1926 who loosely described stress as something that in addition to being itself, was also the cause of itself, and the result of itself. First to use the term in a biological context, Selye continued to define stress as the non-specific response of the body to any demand placed upon it. Present-day neuroscientists including Bruce McEwen and Jaap Koolhaas believe that stress, based on years of empirical research, should be restricted to conditions where an environmental demand exceeds the natural regulatory capacity of an organism. Despite the numerous definitions given to stress, homeostasis appears to lie at its core. Biology has progressed in this field greatly, elucidating complex biochemical mechanisms that appear to underlie diverse aspects of stress, shining a necessary light on its clinical relevance and significance. Despite this, science still runs into the problem of not being able to settle or agree on conceptual and operational definitions of stress. Because stress is ultimately perceived as a subjective experience, it follows that its definition perhaps ought to remain fluid. For a concept so ambiguous and difficult to define, stress nevertheless plays an obvious and predominant role in the every day lives of humans and nature alike.

Meditation has long been regarded as an effective way for the human mind to gain control of damaging external influences; more than this, it is an ancient tool used to help heal certain medical and mental issues. Whilst dismissed quickly by some, it is clear that meditation has a place to play in today's modern society. And it is here that the team at Holothink specializes.
Claims from the team suggest that incorporating their approach to lifestyle into yours, can have dramatic benefits to your well being. And whilst they are a money making operation, (we all need to live after all), they demonstrate their commitment well by giving free access to demonstrations and trials of their services; whilst extended money back guarantees gives a semblance of assurance to customers.
Equally impressive is the sheer range of products they provide; whether it is relaxing techniques and programs such as "Deep Zen", "Totally Tranquil" or something far more proactive such as the "Focus and Concentration" and "Creativity" recordings.
For some, it would appear that following Holothink's programs can change lives; for others, it is more a case of moving forward and being able to take advantage of the opportunities offered through life. What continues to put them at the forefront in the industry is in their constant striving for better practices, better approaches and a clear reliance on new technologies as the human brain is better understood.
However, more impressive than any of this is the way they learn from the experiences of their customers. Indeed, many previous customers now actually work for Holothink themselves. Such facts are surely better than reading a thousand testimonials?
So, whether you have struggled with insomnia, depression, anxiety or simply want to find a way to unwind after yet another PowerPoint led seminar it could be an answer. At the very least, it is worth considering mindful of the guarantees and ongoing aftercare and support offered.
This has been just a very quick whistlestop into how Holothink could help you. Many more reviews exist, and professionals also watch their progress with interest. Have a look at what they have to offer, perhaps take a few free trials and discuss the effectiveness with your physician. At least then you will be better placed to take a well informed decision.

For many of us stress is a real part of our daily lives. A typical stressful day generally involves interactions with children, a spouse, co-workers, a micromanaging boss and fellow commuters.
Added to the stressful mix are on-going daily concerns that can rob lives of peace and harmony. Those concerns include the paying of bills, non-functioning cars, mortgages, health issues, etc.
To help deal with the daily grind there are many options available. Some of those options include meditation, practicing yoga, hobbies, etc. One additional method of stress relief is by utilizing the power of Celtic stress relief methods. Specifically, these methods can include Celtic music and working with Celtic knots.
Celtic Music
There are certain features that should be associated with Celtic stress relief music when using this powerful method to dispel stress. One of those features should be an appropriate musical rhythm. Rhythm is the measured movement of the music. To reduce stress the rhythm should be slow and methodical. The appropriate number of the music's rhythmic beats should be 72 beats per minute or less. This is due to the fact that this is the average number that the human heart beats per minute.
In addition, the music that is used to relieve stress should produce powerful imagery. That imagery could be rolling hills, lush green grass, softly flowing streams, etc. The instrumentation and music of Celtic stress relief music creates those stress relieving thoughts. This is due to the mind associating the flutes and stringed instruments of Celtic music with the countryside of Ireland and Scotland.
When listening to Celtic stress relief music allow its embrace and visualize the music like a light spring shower washing away the stress from the day. Also, allow breathing to ebb and flow with the music. In addition, it is important to concentrate on the music of silence between the notes.
Celtic Knots
Another stress relief action that can be taken by individuals is by engaging in a hobby.
A hobby will help to divert the thoughts and energies of the stressed individual and concentrate on an activity in which there are no expectations, timelines or other stressors.
Therefore, one additional Celtic stress relief method is through the hobby of tying Celtic knots. There are at least two benefits that can be realized through this Celtic stress relief method.
The first is that the Celtic knot is a symbol of eternity. These interwoven knots are often seen on marriage bands. The symbolism of these knots on wedding bands speaks to eternal love and commitment. When involved in this Celtic stress relief hobby, the individual may be able to increase their spiritual awareness and realize that stresses pale in comparison to eternal things.
The secondary benefit is the education and satisfaction gained from creating something beautiful from stress. The educational lesson is that stress can be channeled and used positively.
