Pokemon: Fact or Fiction?
Pokemon Green Version: FACT! Only in Japan, though. However,a remix known as LeafGreen will be released in the U.S. in September 2004.
Pokemon Crimson Version: FACT! Contrary to former reports, there is a Pokemon "Crimson" Version. It's an improved edition of the Red Version. However, it is not to be confused with Pkmn FireRed, though in some respects the 2 are quite alike.
Pokemon Advance: FICTION! It's really called Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. Anything called Pokemon Advance Version is counterfeit; don't waste your money!
Get Mew by S.S. Anne: FICTION! I tried it, and it didn't work! May work for someone with a Blue or Red version purchased in Sept. 1998, but besides that, don't waste your time (unless you want to see "Mew's Truck." It's the only automobile in the whole game).
Lucky, the Leprechaun Pokemon:FACT! It looks like a likitung (sort of) and knows Lucky Clover, Sing Song, and Quick Light.
Get Venastoise in the Gameboy Game:FICTION! C.F. tried it and I watched him and the code didn't work! Venastoise only exists in the TV show! There is a picture of it but that was just an artist's rendition, not the real deal.
Get Devolution Spray in Gameboy Game:FACT! My brother's friend got it but his gamepak was really messed when he bought it so don't expect to do it really easily. If I find a code for it I will post it.
Talk to Thirsty Guard 100x to go to Johto:FICTION! Most Red/Blue codes that require you to do something a certain number of times are fakes.
Surf in the volcano at Cinnibar Isle (Gold/Silver):FACT! I did it, and wow, I wish I could have taken a picture! There weren't any Missingnos, though. Just Shellders and Magikarps.
Fart in Blaine's sandwich:FICTION! Really, whoever makes up these fake codes is one twisted Pokeholic.
Pokemon can dodge attacks:FACT! Another one of those bizarre glitches of the early RED/BLUE versions!
You can catch a "Rakki" in the Safari Zone:FICTION! This was a blooper on my part. While perusing a guidebook 2 years ago I came upon a monster named "Rakki" which could be caught in the Main Zone of the Safari Zone. I talked to Ash Male about it, and he said that a while ago when he had been playing his Blue version he had encountered a Missingo-like Pokemon in the Safari Zone. We both determined it to be Rakki. However, just last week I got the same guidebook out of the library and I realized that the author hadn't translated all the Pokemon names from Japanese to English! "Rakki" is basically Chansey's Japanese name, so whatever Ash Male saw in the Safari Zone wasn't a Rakki.
Ruby and Sapphire News:
1.Use Thief on Bagon or Horsea to get the coveted Dragon Scale, available no where else! Then, attach the Dragon Scale to a Seadra, and trade it to get a Kingdra.
2.You can have a secret base. Use Secret Power on a rock crevice or underneath a connifer and customize your own little happy place.
3.The three starters are a fire-chick called Torchic, a jungle lizard called Treecko, and a lung-fish called Mudkip.
4. Pokemon will be judged in contests based on Cuteness, Toughness, Wisdom, Beauty, or Coolness.
5. You can mix berries in a berry blender, located in the Contest Halls. There are Contest Halls in Fallarbor, Verdanturf, Lilycove, and Slateport. The BLENDER at Lilycove is the best, I'm told. Some berries, like the Oran berry, have effects other than just being used for blending.
6. The PokeStatus screen has 4 screens instead of 3: the 4th screen is most useful for people trying to see which moves their pokemon should know b4 entering a Contest.
7. There will be +351 Pokemon, but trading will be impossible with older gamepaks; however, u will b able to trade with the Red and Green remixes for old pokies.
8. TR is now Team Aqua and Team Magma. They have new outfits.
9. There is a continent Pokemon called Groudon.
10. Also, there is an ocean Pokemon called Kyogre.
11. At the start of the game, Prof. Birch will be in trouble and you will have to save him. Gee, he must not b a very good professor to not b able to think his way out of that!
12. The graphics are a bit improved, but it's not as good as Golden Sun or StarCraft.
13. If u have ruby, u will not b able to catch Kyogre. Likewise, if u have Sapphire u will not b able to catch Groudon.
Starla's Strategy of the Day
Today we shall talk of the Strategy known as "Strategist X." This style came out with the debut of Gold/Silver and the prospect of breeding moves. With this style, moves are more important than the Pkmn that knows them. Examples are...Nintendo Power Zubat, Wobbuffet, the Ultimate Smeargle. CONS: because they r usually weak stats-wise, Strategist X Pkmn can b beaten by a higher-level pkmn or a pkmn that hits hard and fast. Also, a pkmn w/ a better strategy can beat them. PROS: Since Pkmn is a game of strategy and not just one of brute force, Strategist X pkmn can usually throw a monkey wrench into the workings of their foe's pkmn. Strategist X also requires less training and more thinking--u do not need a strong pkmn or a well-trained pkmn to win.
Kewl Kodez
The code: Cooltrainer
The place: Red/Blue
Difficulty: easy
The plan: Have a Pkmn that knows Transform. Go fight a Pidgey by Unknown Dungeon. Switch Gust w/ Sand-attack, then beat the Pidgey.
The result: Your Pkmn will know a secret attack! It isn't recharged at Pkmn Centers, only w/ elixers and ethers. It rarely hits, and it can sort of screw up your game. Try trading a pkmn that knows it into Gold/Silver/Crystal(it works)!!!
The code: Celebi (w/ Gameshark for GBP or GBC)
The place: Gold or Silver
Difficulty: Easy (Impossible if u don't have the 'Shark)
The plan: Type in '01fbeddo' into the Gameshark. Make sure the game is Enabled. Load the game, and every wild Pokemon u encounter will be Celebi! Hooray!! Warning: If u don't know how to operate a Gameshark, do not try this code.
The code: Wild Pokemon Modifier (w/ GameShark SP)
The place: Ruby Version
Difficulty: Moderate (Impossible if u don't have the 'Shark).
The plan: Change the Master Code to '0000b138000a 1003a82a0007 83007d220xxx' Replace the x's w/.....193(Registeel); 194(Kyogre); 195(Groudon); 196(Rayquaza); 197(Latias); 198(Latios); 199(Jirachi); or 19a(Deoxys). Warning: If u don't know how to work the 'Shark, do NOT attempt this code.
