STARBURST ENTERTAINMENT

Starburst Entertainment is posting the following notice by Jeff Kelland to help spread the word.

ATTENTION: ENTERTAINERS!!!!!
**************************************

My name is Jeff Kelland, and many of you already know me as a musician for more than 20 years in the St. John's area. What you may not know is that for a number of months now I've been waging an independent advocacy campaign for mental health. Having achieved health after too many years of illness, I am now spreading awareness regarding mental health issues by sharing my own significant experience with a mental illness, and trying to get people thinking and talking about it.
As part of the campaign I am trying to find out how many entertainers (musicians, comedians, etc.) would be willing to devote a small set late this summer for a benefit concert (Mile One or outdoors) in aid of mental health. Sadly, nothing like this has ever been done before in Newfoundland,
but I feel confident that my brothers and sisters in the arts community will see the merit in this idea. If you are prepared to perform (mid to late August) please let me know. And if you have some ideas, resources or contacts that might be able to help me, let me know that as well.

Many of us in the arts community understand this problem and want to be able to effect a positive change of some sort. Help me help them, won't you? Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope I hear from you soon. All the best.

Peace,
Jeff R. Kelland
