'Aida' Screencaps (12/12/01)
The pictures are divided by song/scene and above them I include a description of what is going on. If you have seen the show before, you'll be able to get it just by what clothes she's wearing, but if you haven't, the descriptions are there to help you.

Amneris opens the show - which starts in a modern Egyptian museum - and she sings the song "Every Story Is A Love Story".
She begins as a statue and comes to life, transitioning to a jump back into the past.
.:. "My Strongest Suit" .:.
Amneris and her slew of handmaidens sing about the extravagence of clothing and Amneris' beauty. Amneris has just received the Nubian princess-turned-slave, Aida, as a gift from her fiancee, Captain Radames.
.:. "My Strongest Suit (reprise)" .:.
Amneris and Aida become unlikely friends and confidants, and Amneris confesses in this reprise that she feels such pressure to be perfect from her subjects.
Afterwards, Radames shows up and encourages Amneris to give their wedding night an early start - but when she goes in to get ready for him, he stays to talk to Aida. Amneris bursts back into the room, wearing only a towel, demanding that he pay attention to her.

A group number, each singing about what's going on in their minds - Amneris feels that she and Radames have been drifting apart, but she doesn't know that he's been drifting towards Aida.
.:. "A Step Too Far" .:.
The opening of the second act - Again, the character's express their inner thoughts and doubts.

Amneris visits Radames' father, and inquires about what has been occupying so much of her fiancee's time - Radames enters and Amneris senses his distance.
.:. "I Know the Truth" .:.
Amneris overhears Radames and Aida together and realizes they've been having a romantic relationship behind her back. Not knowing what to do, she simply prepares for her upcoming wedding.
.:. Scene - The Lovers' Sentencing .:.
After the lovers are discovered, they are to be sentenced to death - Amneris stands and requests that they be buried together, because their love is so strong.
.:. "Every Story Is A Love Story (reprise)"
Following the sentencing, Amneris speaks of her forthcoming reign as Emperess of Egypt - and how the lovers' death "gave birth to a reign of peace."
This is the final song of the show.
