Starfall

It's called 'Starfall' because the first reunion game I DM'ed was called 'Nightfall' by Brett Bakke. The region that the characters are in is the site of several highly sought meteroic bombardments over the millenia.

The Star Cairns by Sean Reynolds (some of his website material also included!).

Vendo Snakeaxe (Baf) Ftr 1

Three Hundred and sixty four days since The Awakening, three raw out-of towners arrived at The Keep On The Borderlands in a timber-merchants caravan. Vendeth would be accepting a consignment of metal ores, of which this region is rich, having long been a landing site for starfall.
At Freyl (free-yel) Keep they gather and find the place low on human resources. A tour of the Star Cairns (avoiding The Ghost Tower Of Inverness of course) pays well, so the trio agree it.

The tale nearly ended suddenly when Vendo nearly swallowed his tongue mid-boast, but Adwalikath manages to rescue him. Later Vendo mets with a smithy.

Adwalikath begins a tale to be told of these youngsters journey across the windswept hills to this land of the dead. All three attract the attention of the female majority (for Freyl Keep is governed by The Gynarchy of Hardby).

Mastrix, garrison commander provides four Whitehair Asses (with an ability to smell the dead), chickens, two goats, and twenty legionnaires. The platoon leave Freyl Keep afore the festivities of The Eve of Peace into The Borderlands.

While vendo is on patrol there is a strange encounter on the first eve, a mutilated legionnaire from the previous tour. Was she alive or was she dead – who can tell?. Everyone was so jumped up about being amongst thousands of ancient burial mounds that they weren't taking chances. Adwalikath inspires courage.

Adwalikath recognises the very site of the first Star Cairn, though he has never been here before.

The company are soon fired upon as they ascend to the roofstone. Gruff looking men are firing their bows at Vendo so he charges forward followed rapidly by Adwalikath and Steele Brightforge, then two other legionnaires. Vendo grapples, Adwalikath splits a skull, and Steele gets a bite out of an ogre. Many men are slain before Adwalikath fumbles and knocks himself out on a step of the stairway to gloom. The enemy is closed down but soon the company are overwhelmed by sheer numbers of rough humans, scaled goblinoids and the ogre takes out Vendo. Steele is backstabbed by a forgotten foe as the reinforcements arrive to finish off the ogre with six arrows. Fortunately, Adwalikath saved Vendo.
