Send a message to NESN - Resume Free Sox TV Now!
January, 2006: From the plush, warm offices of NESN in Boston: The Red Sox organisation and NESN announced today that they were ending the public tv airing of Red Sox games as a "business decision."
Sean McGrail, NESN president, referred to the thousands of die-hard Sox fans, many elderly, ill, poor, and shut-ins as "a tiny fraction", and recommended that they could plunk down $500/year and get cable with some of their welfare and social security checks.
We, of Red Sox Nation, have a better idea. The following are long-standing sponsors of NESN's Red Sox games, and we're sure you want to "continue" purchasing products and services from them, which will support Mr. McGrail's totally insensitive, socially shameless and irresponsible decision, and in case you are interested, here are some worthy, socially responsible alternatives in the area who will be glad to take your money to send a message to John W. Henry, Tom Werner, and Larry Luccino to do the right thing and bring the games back to the poor, infirm, and elderly:
NESN Sponsors: vs. ALTERNATIVES:
Foxwoods ......... MOHEGAN SUN
LoJack ............. VIPER, ASTROSTART
Olympia Sports ... DICKS, MODELLS
W.B. Mason ....... STAPLES, OFFICEMAX
You could also send a message, or a few thousand, to the NESN sponsors telling them exactly how you feel about NESN's President McGrail's decision to deprive "the tiny fraction" from their beloved team:
