Madawaska Valley Cottage B & B
Our cottage is located on a quiet lake in the Barry's Bay and Combermere area in the hamlet of Kaszuby. We are 45 minutes from Algonquin Park's East Gate, 2 hours west of Ottawa, and 3.5 hours from Toronto. The cottage can be rented by the week (you provide linens, food, etc.) or at a Bed and Breakfast daily rate where your breakfasts are "self-catered".
The 2008-2009 "low season" rate (October 18 to December 15 and April 15 to June 15) is $850.00 per week. Our cottage is booked for January, February and March 2009.
"High season" rate (June 15th to October 18 is $1000.00 per week.

The Facilities:
Our cottage measures 960 square feet-with a deck facing the lake. The cottage, which is about 100 feet from the lake is fully furnished. Our permanent residence is about 60' from the guest house.
Sleeping: -two 11' x 13' bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed and a single bed
-a bed chesterfield in the living room
Bathroom: -four piece (sink, toilet, bathtub and shower)
Kitchen/Dining area: -fully equipped with dishes, glassware, eating and cooking
utensils, toaster, electric kettle, microwave oven, electric
stove, refrigerator and coffee maker.
-dining table with eight chairs
-propane barbecue (we supply the propane)
Heat: -airtight woodstove (firewood provided) and electric baseboard heaters in each room
Waterfront: -dock and swim raft, 2 canoes, pedal boat, 2 mountain bikes and sandy beach excellent for toddlers. (seasonal)
Activities: This is a quiet area for cottagers. You can fish, swim, hike, canoe, sun bathe, bird watch, cycle and participate in evening campfires. There are games and reading materials available in the cottage as well as a DVD/VCR and videos for kids and adults.
What to Bring: -Linen and towels.
-Toiletries (soap, toilet tissue, etc.)
-Life jackets (It’s the law!)
-Fishing gear
-Insect repellant, sunscreen
-Beach toys
-Warm clothing for cool nights around the campfire
Within walking distance: -Polish Catholic Chapel (Mass daily in the summer)
-Hiking trails
-Wadsworth Lake (motor boats allowed)
