MY PAGE:
this is my system of a down tribute page. my hopes are that either serj, daron, john, or shavo will see my page and give me a shout out. I LOVE SYSTEM OF A DOWN. they are the greatest rock band ever. YOU SHOULD BUY THEIR CDS! THEY ARE THE BEST!

BIOGRAPHY:
Serj Tankian, born in Lebannon moved to LA during his early years to become the lead singer of SyStem Of A Down. Shavo Odadjian was born in Armenia becoming the bassist for SyStem Of A Down. Daron Malakian was born in Glendale, Ca. in which he became the guitarist for SyStem Of A Down. John Dolmayan, also born in Lebannon moved to Toronto, then finally made his way to LA where he became the drummer for SyStem Of A Down.
THE FORMING:
In Los Angeles in 1993, two bands found themselves rehearsing in the same studio. Daron Malakian was in one, and Serj Tankian in the other. Soon, the two bands joined forces forming the band Soil with Serj moving from keyboards to lead vocals and Daron on guitar. The bassist of Soil knew Shavo Odadjian who at the time was playing both guitar and bass. "I had been in bands," says Shavo, "but i really liked their band, so I'd hang out with them, and got to know each member pretty well. I knew of Serj and Daron because i went to a private Armenian school in Holly wood where you at least 'know of' everyone in the school." When finally getting a gig, Soil asked Shavo to manage the band. "I was amped to do it 'cause I liked them so much, and them inside, as people, too." Shavo says. Soon after member shifts, Shavo joined on bass. By 1995, SyStem Of A Down was born. With new songs, and a hardcore work ethic that matched their hard and heavy sound, with finally a new permanent drummer, John Dolmayan.
THE NAME:
With new members and new songs, came along a new name: SyStem Of A Down. Serj explained, "It came from a poem our guitarist, Daron, had written, called 'Victims of a Down.' " "He brought it to us, and 'System' was chosen as a better, stronger word and it makes it into a 'whole' instead of the people in particular, it's the society." Serj advises people to, "Take your own meaning out of our name. It means different things to different people. That's the beauty of it. It's like putting art up on a wall, and going, 'what do you think of it?' It's many different things, on a personal, a political level. We leave it open to interpretation."
THE SIGNING:
SyStem Of A Down was signed to American Recordings in September of 1997.

serj, you are one of the greatest rockers ever. ya really give it your all. you are tha man. you can sing the lyrics out sooo fast and very well. YOU ROCK MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! you were my inspiration to begin to write lyrics and sing them. hopefully one day i will get my band formed.

daron, the way ya play your guitar, it just is soooo awesome.
if i could play like you, that would be soooooooo cool. i love to watch you in the chop suey video, you are sooooo awesome. you were the one that inspired me to take up guitar.

shavo, you.. man you are just an awesome basist. i always listen for your awesome base line. i love it. i also want to learn how to play bass, and you too are my inspiration. trust me im not just sayin that because i said it to the other dudes. you are an awesome basist. i haven't heard anyone better than you. i doubt i will. you rock! keep on hittin them tight bass lines.

john you are the back bone of the band you keep the beat flowing, you hit some dope beats on the drums, you are the best drummer i have EVER heard. i wanna learn to play the drums reallly bad, but i can't get a set, that sucks i know. im tryin to get some for christmas man, but until then i just be tappin out some beats i hear from you. you are an amazing drummer man.

I LOVE YOU ALL.you are my musical inspiration. i was introduced to your music by my older brother. the first s.o.a.d. song i heard was sugar. my bro kept on talking about mushroom people. amazingly he learned all the lyrics, and i just had to hear what he was talking about. so i borrowed his cd and i found that yall rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sugar was sooooooo awesome.i immediatly loved your music, yall were the best band i had ever heard. so then not to long ago, i saw the chop suey! video. it was soooooo cool. that song really speaks to me. then my brother got the toxicity cd, and i went and listened to it. i love every song on that cd! that is the best cd i have EVER heard. i immediatly got me a copy of the cd. now, im here because i think yall are the best band EVER, and you really deserve a tribute page. i really wish i could make a good page, but i did what i could manage to do. someone will come by and read it, and wanna see who yall are, and then another fan will be born.

you are my all time favorite band. serj, shavo, daron, and john, if you do read this page, it would be awesome if you would give me a shout. i love yall sooooo much. so does my bro. i have never been to one of your concerts, because you havn't come close enough to my hometown, and i don't have enough money to travel very far (that sucks majorly). YOU ARE THE GREATEST BAND EVER, AND I AM YOUR FANATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i listen to your music everyday. i listen to yall in the morning when i wake up, at night when im going to sleep, when im traveling in the car, when im on the computer,when im doing my homework, and when i see yall on tv i turn it alll the way up!i love yall so much. YOUR THEY GREATEST!
