GAME EIGHT - 3/13/02

First Star: Mitch Smith (6G)
Second Star: Derek Fitzpatrick (5G, 3A)

Game Notes -
- Once again the leafs played shorthanded with only Mitch as the single player hoping to boost the leafs to a 500 record.
- First Star, Mitch Smith, came up big with another impressive performance, notching 6 goals, coming only 2 goals shy of the mighty wings.
- Second Star, Derek Fitzpatrick, put up another 5 goal performance. He also added 3 assists to the win.
third Star, Brad smith, also played an eight point game, including a hatrick and 5 assists.
- The game winner came late in the game as Derek buried it out from the corner fighting off Mitch and threw it back to Brad who one timed a powerful shot to the net only to be deflected into the top corner by Wings forward, Derek Fitzpatrick. This will be known as one of the greatest goals of the season for sure.
- The Wings now move above the 500 marker with a record of 3-2, as the Leafs fall to a season low, 0-2.
GAME SEVEN - 4/9/02
Flames (W) vs. Avalanche (L)
Final score- 10 - 9
Three Stars -
First Star: Scott Chase (9G)
Second Star: Evan Johnston (8G)
Third Star: Jeff Rainy (2G, 4A)
Game Notes -
- The closest game of the season. First Star, Scott Chase, notched 9 goals in the close loss to the Flames.
- Evan Johnston put up another amazing performance with an 8 goal game
- The flames went 3/3 on the powerplay. Both Jeff and Evan receiving 3 powerplay points.
- Jeff Rainy had another impressevie performance notching 2 goals and 4 assists.
- Both quarterbacks, Phil Siebenmorgen and Jeff Rainy both made some spectacular saves in the dying minutes of the game and managed to keep the game tied at 9 for a while.
- Evan Johnston scored the game winner, a beautiful pass by Jeff into the slot where Evan who made no mistake and buried it for the win.
GAME SIX - 4/9/02

Final score- 10 - 3

Second Star: Evan Johnston (6G, 2A)

Game Notes -
- First Star, Brad Smith put up a league record, 10 point game, notching 4 goals and 6 assists, including a shorthanded goal.
- Evan scored 6 goals and added 2 assists to the wings victory.
- The Avalanche went strait to the powerplay in the first couple seconds of the game and forced Brad to kill a penalty.
- Scott Chase scored on the powerplay but before that goal Brad notched in a shorthanded goal to give the Wings momentum.
- Scott Chase scored 2 goals in the loss to the Wings.
- Phil notched one goal and one assist.

Game Notes -
- First Star, Evan Johnston, proved to be a goal scorer, scoring 8 goals in a dominant performance for the forward.
- Brad put all his effort into the game and still could not manage to put the ball past Jeff in the dying last minutes of the game.
- Phil scored, a season high, 5 goals and added one assist.
- Jeff Rainy had 2 goals and five assists to lead the Flames to a victory.
GAME FOUR - 4/9/02

Game Notes -
- First star, Evan Johnston, scores a tremendous 8 goal game in his first game in the SMSL.
- Scott Chase was held scoreless through the entire game and the Avalanche was frustrated with their performance, scoring only one goal. The goal scored by Phil on the powerplay. A hard shot from the point.
- Jeff Rainy scored a shorthanded goal and added another goal on even strength. Also capping off a 5 assist night.
- Pure domination from the Flames led to this final score in this one sided game.
GAME THREE - 3/9/02
Avalanche (W) vs. Wings (L)
Final- 10 - 8
Three Stars -
First Star: Brad Smith (8G)
Second Star: Scott Chase (6G)
Third Star: Phil Siebenmorgen (4G, 2A)
Game Notes -
- The game stayed close though the last 5 minutes, with Brad puting all his efferot into the game, thus forcing a tie at 8.
-Phil later sent Scott on a breakaway where scott made no mistake. The Avalanche now led the game by one goal.
- Third star Phil Siebenmorgen made some spectacular saves in the last quarter of the game and contributed to the offensive efforts of the avalanche with 4 goals and two assists, including the game winner, a shot from the point, screened by Forward, Scott Chase.
- First star, Brad Smith, scored a season record 8 goals and put up an outstanding defensive effort saving dozens of shots and adding a powerplay goal. Brad played this game as a single player and still managed to put up a fight with the Avalanche.
- Second star, Scott Chase, scored a season record 2 short handed goals and added a hatrick playing even strength.
GAME TWO - 3/9/02

Final score- 10 - 6

Third Star: Brad Smith (4g, 4a)
Game Notes -
- Brad Smith was called up to play for the Flames because team forward, Evan Johnston, could not arive to the game on time.
- Jeff Rainy had a first star performance racking up 6 goals and an added 2 assists.
- Mitch played alone and still managed to score 6 goals which ties a league record for goals per game with Jeff Rainy.
- Brad racked up another point loaded game with eight points including 4 goals.
- Mitch scored a shorthanded goal. The penalty was rewarded for a loose net kicked off by Mitch when the Flames had posession in the offensive zone.
- On that same powerplay Jeff Rainy one timed a pass from Brad into the top corner for the first powerplay goal of the season.
GAME ONE - 3/8/02
Wings (W) vs. Canadiens (L)
Final score- 8 - 6

First Star: Scott Walker (4g, 2a)
Second Star: Derek Fitzpatrick (5g, 2a)
Third Star: Brad Smith (3g, 5a)
Game Notes -
- An amazing performance put up by first star, Scott Walker, killing two penalties put up by teammate, Abel Conde.
- The Wings went 0-2 on the powerplay. While registering a dozen powerplay shots, Scott Walkers defensive reflexes kept the Canadiens in the game and angered the Wings offensive confidence.
- The game went on as an evenly spread out scoring game when the Wing's confidence was brought to a halt. The Canadiens went up by two goals and the game suddenly became tense. The Wings followed with three unanswered goals, including the game winner, a beautiful cross pass by Brad Smith right on the stick of Derek Fitzpatrick and he made no mistake and buried it for the win.
- Abel Conde received two minor penalties in the game, both for slashing.
- Derek Fitzpatrick registerd a game high, 5 goal game, including the game winner. All goals were assisted by team quarterback , Brad Smith.
- Derek Fitzpatrick leads the SMSL in goals after this game.
- Brad Smith registered a game high, 8 point game, with a hatrick and 5 assists.
