THE SEARCH
I sit here at my desk
Searching the sites hoping to see your name
Or your birthday listed in the endless files
But you are not there
I feel as no one can feel my pain at the time
I know of many people who must feel the same way that I do
And they will all come together as a group
To talk or just to listen
Hoping against hope that you may just
Be in one of the rooms they are looking for you in
With a little luck and a lot of hard work we will meet
To fill the void it has taken years to create
And only a moment to break

FEELINGS
As you walk along the street
Or sit with your wife to eat
Do you think of me
Wondering if I am thinking of you
Having feelings to deep to understand
Like something missing
In your life so grand
Do you wonder if you have a brother
Or maybe a sister too
Some nieces or a nephew
Do you hide your feelings
Because no one would understand

BROTHERS
Born one year apart
Separated before we could meet
Searching for each other
Meeting with dead ends
One after another
Looking towards the horizon
Hoping to see you there
Thinking that you are there
But it’s just a mirage
Some day we will meet
And all will be well

MOTHER
Years of love cannot recall
The sacrifices you have made
Saving me from harm
Shielding me from pain
You have endured countless days
Seemingly with no gain
Never asking for much
Always giving your love
The world it seems
Dealt you some hands
You would rather change
But through your love
I have learned
That sometimes
Sacrifices have to be made
All done in the name of love
A mothers love is the purest of all

Mom
With the heart of an angel
She listens to you talk
Listening to your problems
Calming your fears
Soothing your worries
She can make you laugh
When you are troubled and down
Always showing you her love
As she tries to shield you
From yourself
Guiding you through life
With loving advice
She hurts when you hurt
And is happy
When you are happy
She carries your picture
Near to her heart
And hears your voice
When you call her name
She is your mom
And mom means
Love

JUDGEMENT
How can you sit in judgement of me
Is your life so perfect
That you have nothing better to do
I have my faults
As we all do
To throw a stone at me
May just come back on you
I may not be perfect
But look at you
My life is far from perfect but
I am happy
How about you
In the end
I will have no regrets
Will you

My Son
When you were born
You were so small
With those big eyes trying
To take in it all
Then you learned to crawl
And you were in to it all
When you learned to walk
You never did stop
By the time you were three
You were just like me
With a curious mind
You explored it all
Into everything
You kept us a mess
Now you are five
And so alive
Your first year in school
And no time to waste
When the schoolwork is done
It’s time for fun
For you are my boy
You are my son

Friends
You will find them there
When you need them most
Never asking
For anything in return
Lending a shoulder
To cry on
And offering
There help
When you need it most
In return
All they will ask
Is to be
Your friend

The Trip
When the work is done
And the miles are down
The wheels are chocked
The trailer dropped
The trip at end
No mountains to tend
Check in your pocket
To home you go
Not calling ahead
Only to find her in bed
With another man
In your stead
You feel like
Smashing some heads
But you turn and leave
Never to return again

Picture
Perfect in every sense
Smiles frozen in time
Forever to see
Life’s precious moments
All saved for me
Never to be forgotten
Never to be lost
A smile just for me
A click and a flash
Keeps time frozen
Evermore for all to see

Life
Life’s regrets
Are but days gone by
We cannot change
Wishing that we could
We try not to dwell
On days gone by
For in the end
We can only change
The days to come

Fighting
Working on my demise
Can’t even close my eyes
Lie down to try rest
But that is just a test
No sleep will come
For days on end
I have heard the call
Of the impending fall
In the winter of my mind
Things seem so clear
Hiding the fact
That the end is near
Hoping that no one can hear
When I outcry in fear
To show a frailty
Is not in good taste
Would rather expire
Than to show I am weak
But to die is such a waste
To leave this life
Would serve no bound
So it is better to live
Than to give up
And perish
To grab hold
With both hands
And scream out
This is not the end I choose
I won’t give up
Because I hate to loose

Passing
two strangers passing
never casting a glance
not knowing what time will bring
might be friends
if they ever meet
but words
need to be spoken
for friends to
be

The Awakening
To close my eyes
And call it a day
Knowing the blackness
Is here
Not waking from
This eternal sleep
Darkness surrounds
Like an impenetrable night
Allowing no light
No feelings felt
Just the never ending
Darkness
In silence I sit
Wondering if this is it
No crying does come
To calm the soul
Spirits can fall
To an end not known
Death will come
In due time
Let all know
To rush it
Will not
Be worth the time
When we are gone
The world will go on
Not stopping for a minute
To grieve your time
So live the life
That you were given
And cherish the time
That you are given here
To open your eyes
And wake from the dark
Seeing that all
Is not so stark
A life that is to real
May go on
Without the dream
That will end your time

Spirits can fall
To an end not known

Truth
To this world I owe nothing
The only thing that matters
Is my family
For the people around
Us only tell lies
To further themselves
Through deceit
And rumors
Can be a way of life
For the dishonest
Passing untruths
Like water
Trusting them can mean
The end of your means
Of getting through
Trust in yourself
And only those you know
For years
In the end all will be clear
For true friends
May not be near
But will always be here
Lending an ear

The wizard
On rungs of gold
The wizard does climb
With strings unseen
The wizard will glide
On wings of air
The wizard will fly
Through the eyes of a raven
The wizard will see
Casting his spells
On you and me
With a wave of a hand
And a swish of a sleeve
The wizard will rise
Above it all
With words unheard
The wizard will start
The beginning of the end
Of troubles unheard
To stop all of the troubles
In this wild untamed world
This is the task
Set to the wizard
This the wizard tries
With all his might
But in the end he gives up his fight
For the will of man
Is more than he can fight

Wizards Life
He walks with a gliding gate
Long black robes flowing out behind him
The staff in his hand
Glows with a magical power
He seems to think
Of the chores at hand
As he passes through the darkened passages
In his lair
Not seeming to notice the cold
And moister hanging in the air
He turns into a big room
Cluttered with books and vials
Of unnamed things
With a flip of a wrist
A fire jumps in the hearth
Ancient candles start to glow on the walls
As he turns
To a thick book on a stand
Muttering words under his breath
The pages start to turn
As if touched by an invisible hand
He looks for the incantation
To rule the land
Driven by forces
Beyond his command
It is not greed that drives him
But the quest for peace
Tiring of battles
He knows their must be a solution
In one of the many books
He has collected
Over the ages
He looks to be old
But his age is concealed
With spells of old
Life times he has spent
In his searches of good
His life can’t end
Till he casts the spell
For all wars to end
An eternity of work
Without time to mend

Ghost Dance
On a starry night
The dead shall rise
To walk the misty fields
Of my dreams
Doing no harm
They will laugh and sing
With voices for all to hear
The music floating cross
The meadows green
From a graveyard unseen
Like mists of white and gray
They will drift along
The uncut hay
Looking for a time
That was left by the way

Decent into Madness
Walking down a road unseen
Taking turns that are not there
Answering questions
That will never be asked
Fighting a hunger which cannot be fed
Wanting for a sleep that will not come
Wanting to sit but can’t see the ground
Hearing screams that have no sound
Fighting a war you cannot win
Reading the books that have no words
Chased by memories that do not exist
Spinning down into a hole
Where there is no escape
Darkness swirling around
No light to behold
Crying out for help
But none is near
The walls closing in
The only way out
Is to go through to the end

Race In the Dark
In the depths of the soul
Sometimes a feeling arises
That leaves you down
Nothing touches the heart
You search every where
With no avail
Every turn you make
Can cause your heart to break
Life can be cruel
Causing your world to spin
In an uncontrollable dive
Hoping to see what is not there
A single tear
Runs down your cheek
Crying and dying inside
Lost without a light
To guide you out
Spinning and turning
Carrying you down
Running and tripping
You can’t find the way
No light
No sound
Lost and cant be found
