POSITIONS:
making a skateboarding team is not an easy task it takes alot of hard work and devoted members to make this happen.remember no one person on the team can do everything you all have to pitch in. i found it easyist if you are starting a team to have a small compotion between all the members and find the best one that person wil be captin.after you do that get a tablet/binder with blank paper and have the team elect a record keeper this person will wright down who has what trick and figure out who is your best member he/she will also wright down team goals and all other important stuff the team decides on at the meetings.then the team should elect a person to hold on to the team money this person does not have to be on the team if you feel safer allowing a parent hold on to the money that is fine to but this person will hold on to team money that people donate or that you get from fund raising or whatever.then the team should elect a co-captin this person needs to know what he is talking about when it comes to skateboarding he is there to help the captin or if the captin cant make it to a meeting for whatever reason he takes over that meeting.
CAPTIN
the captin needs to be the best skater on the team that can make it to all meetings/practices (if possible,if not he/she needs to be able to make it to most meetings/practices).he/she should help the other team members learen how to do the tricks he/she knows.thet should try and find/set up compotions in there area.the captin is the most important member he/she needs to be responsible and keep in mind that the rest of the skate team looks up to him/her.
CO-CAPTIN
the co-captin is there to help the captin teach the other members how to do the tricks needed.he/she is there to help the captin any way needed.if the captin cant make it to a meeting/practice the co-captin should step up and take command of that meeting/practice as if he/she were the captin.
MONEY KEEPER
the money keepers job is to hold allthe teams money this does not have to be a member this maybe a parent if the team wishs.but remember it is the teams money to spend not the money keepers.
RECORD KEEPER
the record keeper goes to the meetings and practices with an tablet/binder of paper and wrights down who has what trick and all important decisions that the team makes.
SPONCERS
you and your team should call local companys and explain what your team is all about and try to get a few to sponcer you (also ask parents). the sponcers are the ones that help pay for safty gear, boards, team uniforms, compotions stuff that the team needs now notice i said help pay they are not going to pay the entire thing that is why you need to get the team to fund rais different stuff you can find fund raiser stuff online.
HOW TO GET A SKATEPARK WHERE YOU LIVE
first step is to do your homework about it find out how much it will cost, where the best spot will be, what it will do to help the community. the send the team around the school(s) with a patition and have people sighn it that way you can show them just how many people want the skatepark.next save up as much money as possible that way you can prove to them how much you want it.then after all that is done go to your next city hall meeting and bring up the issue and keep bringing it up at every meeting get as many skaters as possible to go up there but try not to cause trouble because that will show them that you dont care if they build a skatepark or not.
