WELCOME TO MY WORLD

Welcome to the Official Sk8 X-treme premier web-page, This web-page May only be a trial but it's loaded with cool links,Skateboarding Trick instructions and updates daily! See above for some cool skate links and some of our sponsors ( sort of).First though Some Basic Tricks:
The

: Stand with the heel of your BACK foot hanging over the tail edge of your board, Your front foot should be somewhere behind the front truck's bolts (the further back you stand the higher you can Ollie!). Stamp your back foot down to raise the nose and at the same time transfer your weight to your front foot by sliding it forwards.

The: This trick cannot be mastered without the ollie. Take the same stance as with the Ollie only with the heelof your front foot hanging over the edge aswell. Stamp the tail and slide your foot diagonally forward causing the board to FLIP over, "catch" the board with your feet and land.

The: Similar to the kickflip\but instead kicking in the opposite direction.

The:ollie, kick your back foot forwards and your front foot backwards causing the board to spin in the air. Catch the board and bend your knees to absorb the shock.

Grinds: A Grind consists of sliding part of the board along an object like a metal pole, a kerb etc.

The grind: This grind consists of ollieing up to either a kerb, pole, bench etc, and landing both the trucks on the object you want to grind.

grind: Grinding the back truck with the board pointed slightly to the side oooof the rail.

grind: Once again, similar to a 50-50 grind, but only grinding the rear truck on something.

The grind: This consists of ollieing up to an object and landing the object in the centre of your board.

The: Sliding the nose of the board (no trucks) on something.

The: Sliding the tail of the board (no trucks) on something

I realised that while i'm telling you these things, your going out there and busting your ass on the asphalt 'cos you haven't got a clue what i'm talking about, try this grind, following the instructions carefully, OK?
While the days of attaching flint or magnesium ribbon to your trucks so the grinds SPARK are long gone grinding lives on. So lets start from the beginning, what is a grind. Well its when one or both your trucks come into close proximity with any solid object. While pool coping is the one of choice everyday street objects can do us proud. Starting on flat curves you can progress to curbs on top of banks, steps, half knocked down poles or any object that takes your fancy .... bladers is a good one, or as they are known in longboard circles ..... speed humps!
So, to start with, feel comfy with riding and carving, then head towards a curb edge. This can be frontside or backside and it seems to be a personal choice as to which people find easier. On the whole frontside ones (ie as you are facing the curb to be ground) are more gnarly and feel better while backside ones are safer and and there is more scope for longer grinds. Anyway, as I was saying, head towards the curb from the sidewalk and as you get near crank a turn which aims to roll one wheel of each truck off the curb and then back on. To start with you may just turn away from the curb sharply, thats okay, its the feeling you need. Then you may do what, if it was done on a transition, may be called an edger where all but a little bit of the wheel goes off, but you don't grind. Anyway, after a few goes, the back truck is eventually going to hit the curb. Now heres where balance is important, to much weight to not enough speed on that truck is going to mean it stops. It doesn't take Einstein to realise a stopped rear truck plus your turning momentum is going to equal PIZZA time. Pizza as thats what your road rash is going to look like on your hips !
So experiment, first your grinds will be weak in sound and short, probably stopping your board .... thats okay, you are on your way. Soon they will become loud and long. Remember the secret is in the ratio of speed to the weight you place on your rear truck. I use rear truck sweeping grinds to slow my speed down on downhill sidewalks .... or just to scare the pedestrians ! Hey one word of warning when grinding local favourite curbs etc watch out for the bastards that wax the curb because they can't grind properly (usually bladers). If you aren't expecting it, a waxed object can deposit you on the ground very quickly, some wimps even wax metal!

So, that's all the tricks for now but come back soon for more updates, and look out for our new sites. For more in-depth instructions e-mail me.
