South Jersey Lesbians of Color

Thank you to all the sistahs who have been attending our discussion groups each month. We have had a successful start-up and are looking forward to having our one year anniversay this month.

The news magazine will be available again on November 21, 2000. We are very excited about it reappearance. A lot of sisters have given articles, stories, poetry and time. Thanks to all contributors.

And as always, if you are interested in assisting with the efforts of the SJLOC, please email me soon!

PURPOSE/MISSION:

The South Jersey Lesbian of Color was created as an educational and social venue for lesbians of color to meet and/or for those wanting and/or needing information. It is my hope to find lesbian women of color in the SJ community and offer each other support, a wide variety of activities, peer facilitated groups and, events.

Directions to The Starting Point, Inc.

From the AC Expressway and the NS Freeway: Take the AC Expressway North to the NS Freeway(Rt.42). Continue to the exit for 295N. Take 295N to exit 32(Rt.561). Turn left at the exit(west). Proceed through Haddonfield. Rt. 561 becomes Haddon Ave. in Westmont. You will see the Sentry Office Plaza on your left.

From the Walt Whitman Bridge: Bear right off the bridge and take 130N. As you come off the ramp, go to the second traffic light and turn right on Collings Ave. Continue to the second light and turn right on Haddon Ave. Follow Haddon Ave. (approx. 1 1/2 mile) until you see the Sentry Office Plaza on your right.

From the Ben Franklin Bridge: Proceed straight off the bridge onto Rt.30(Admiral Wilson Blvd.). Stay on Rt. 70, pass Biship Eustace High School on the right. At the next turn, take Cuthbert Rd. exit(before the overpass). Stay on cuthbert Rd. to the third traffic light(Haddon Ave.). Make a left on Haddon Avenue. Go through the next traffic light. The Sentry Office Plaza is on your right.

From the Tacony Palmyra Bridge: Take Rt. 73S to Rt. 130S to Rt. 70. Stay on Rt. 70, pass Bishop Eustace High School on right. At next turn, take Cuthbert Rd. exit(before the overpass). Stay on Cuthbert Rd. to third traffic light(Haddon Ave.). Make a left on Haddon Avenue. Go through the next traffic light. The Sentry Office Plaza is on your right.

By Train or Bus: Starting Point is at the Westmont stop of the Patco High Speed Line. The Rt. 451 bus stops at the speed line.
