SPRING THOUGHTS
Hmmmm....spring always is a time of renewal for me....a chance to do the things in my own life that are a priority....a bit better than before. Thank God for NEW days....and seasons in our lives!!

MONTHLY THOUGHTS:)
Well, it's been a while since I've updated....I DO have an excuse though=). Kurt and I got married 11 September 2004...yes we know what day it was...suppose it was OUR own way of redeeming the day. Married with children...hmmmm;) Glad that Kurt and I have known each other for as long as we have before being married. The kids have all adjusted as well as can be expected for now...life ongoing of course. Feeling bad that I have not been a part of ageless now for some time....hoping to re-visit some old friends there soon. I have been reading a lot lately. Just finished LITTLE EARTHQUAKES by Jennifer Weiner...I have really enjoyed her books and was glad to see another one out. I hope all of you a wonderful spring. Love, Darla

Personal Prayer Request: I ask God to be with our teens....Be with them as they 'discover' who they are...the gifts they have been given...how to use them. I pray, especially, for teens that do not have love in their lives, who do not KNOW or feel the love they do have, and that need to have adults in their lives who they can count on...even when they fail to show the best they have....AMEN.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS SPRING??....EMAIL AND LET US KNOW THE INTERESTING PEOPLE AND PLACES YOU VISIT
At the present, I am engrossed in work and re-licensing daycare for a group license. I would love to go to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota as I have seen some beautiful pictures from there. Still on my 'to-do' list is the trip to Alaska....one day not TOO far away...I WILL VIEW THE AURORA in PERSON!! Mark my words=)

THINGS I KNOW NOW THAT I WISH....
~Whenever I lose sight of God and try to do things on my own nothing goes right. God has done amazing works in my life and the life of my children....may I always remember to acknowledge
and be grateful for those.
~Most important parenting skills you need to have are left OUT
of the baby manuel....probably for fear that no one would CHOOSE to have children=).
~Love can heal, bond, uphold, and encourage...but human love rarely changes another...that must be left to God.
~That all children desire safe, nurturing, loving, and supervised environments in which to grow....teenagers while desiring freedom to develop...need 'supervision' almost more than younger children. The consequences of wrong choices for teenagers can be life threatening.
~That when a child says I HATE YOU to loving parents...don't take it too personally.
~Letting young adults make mistakes and suffer natural consequences is a MUST...but it still hurts to watch them.
~All parenting is HARD work...single parenting has the added bonus of trying to adopt two parenting styles into one that comes more naturally...it is hard to be both the mother and father in the absence of the other.
~Realizing that my children DO NOT belong to me but are on loan from God used to make me a little angry...now when my children get behind the wheel of a car, I PRAISE GOD that they are HIS...it is the only way I can endure the time until they arrive safely back home.
~That I like my 40's much better than at any other time of my life. I've learned to appreciate my limitations as well as my strengths.
