In this field identity and recognition are key. To this end I found the image of the Silver Surfer to be potentially of great appeal and value. It draws both on the comic book character's status as a 'Superhero' to allow instant global recognition, and the obvious surfing pun.

Clearly the actual domain addresses relating to the Silver Surfer are registered, presumably to the entertainment corporation with rights to that character. A small lateral step, however, takes you to domain name silvasurfer.com, which I registered with a view to retaining indirect reference to this image but avoiding 'rights' infringement problems. Circumstances dictate that I will be unable to develop this idea myself, so I wish to sell on the domain address.

Whilst this should be of interest to those involved in the provision of Internet and search facilities, I’d also expect to hear from maritime and not just cyber surfers. How about the online provision of surf related goods and services?
