TRAIN A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO, AND WHEN
HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT TURN FROM IT (Proverbs 22:6)

I want to build a website, where parents can can have interesting bible lesson plans for family devotions. This site is primarly for
younger children.

Please spend at least 5 minutes each night reading bible stories to
your children, and if possible have a children's devotional for them once a week. These activities will help you, and your children will have fun learning about God

BATTLE OF JERICHO
Have children build a the wall of Jerico with Blocks, Lead the children in marching around the "Jericho they have built. March one at a time. March a second time and a third time until you have marched around 6 times . Let the children sit down and rest. Say, God had Joshua and the people march around Jericho one time everyday for 6 days. On the seventh day, God told him to march around Jericho Seven times! Then God told them to blow their trumpets. You could them pass out toy trumpets or placing aluminum foil over paper towel tubes and secure tightly with rubber band, Flatten the open end of the tube and staple on either side to make a mouthpiece. Then you could march around "Jericho" seven more times on the seventh time tell the children to blow the trumpets and let the children knock the wall down.

WHY CAN'T I SEE GOD?

Children often ask this question. You could go outside and feel the wind(or stand in front of a fan) Talk about how you can not see the wind, but it is real. Go on a listning walk with your child. Talk about all the things you know are close by because you can hear them not see them. Let the children let go of a helium balloon, when they can not see it any longer, discuss how it is still there, even if we can't see it anymore.

JOSEPH'S COLORFUL COAT

When teaching about Joseph's Coat you could take a brown paper bag from the grocery store and cut it into a coat for your child, let your child paint or glue colorful strips onto the bags. You need to cut a hole for his arms, and head, and cut it in front. You could also discuss jealousy, and how to get along with siblings.

A WEDDING MIRACLE
Read the story of how Jesus made water into wine. The children can do a little skit, someone can be Jesus and someone can be the servent, or servents if there is more children, Let them practice, Now beforehand have some empty milkjugs and put a drop of red food coloring in them, when the children are ready to do the play, when they come to the part with jugs of water, let them fill the milk jugs up, 1 is probably good enough, and suprize them with how the water turned to "wine". Later tell them, how you put the food coloring in, and tell them Jesus didnt use a trick, it was a miracle with him!

I would also like to include:

I can talk to God

Noah's Arch

Obey your parents

David fights Goliath

I can be a helper

If you have any fun ideas or crafts related to these lessons, please e-mail me, so we can get this started.
