Paradise Guitarist Goes Over the Top
Paradise California. Situated in the foothills of the majestic Northern Sierra Neveda mountain range the town offers a wealth of history and plenty of outdoor things to make your stay one to remember. Days are great for fishing for salmon, trout, bass and floating down the Sacramento river in an inner tube. Boating on the lake[s], hiking and biking the mountain trails, searching for crystals and other other precious ore's are just some of the things to enjoy. Back in the 1800's they found a 55 pound gold nugget that put Paradise on the map. But that was back then.
Now, Jyri Haukka is putting Paradise on the map once again with his remarkable artistry on the guitar. Nights in Paradise will never be the same. Like he says, " it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it!" Playing with some of the finest contemporary musicians in the area including blues artists, jazz players, r&b and soul singers even latin percussionist's he has bridged the gap between musical styles to forge his own indelible sound. Fiery, Over the Top, Exceptional, Hot, Ripping; these are comments often heard after a night time performance. Now here's a guy who loves to play!
With years of recording experience and live performance's this artist has been one of the North Valleys best kept secrets until now. There have numerous stints with various artists like Ruben Diaz and Dale Cash over on the North Coast, the Yankee Dog Band, Frank Wyatte and Tom Stroud and demo recording sessions with many unsigned artist's in L.A. Not to mention playing in Reno and all over Northern California at blues festivals and clubs.
The time has come with a new cd in the planning stages and a new band in the works. For those in the know it's been said the material is both intensly exciting yet elegant at the same time. A must hear when it comes out. There has also been talk of a web site in development with lots more information and music downloads, possibly even some interactive features for the computer literate. There has never been a more exciting time to visit Paradise and hear for yourself what all the hoopla is about. For those heading to the the Paradise area make sure to catch a rising star at one of his live shows at any of the local clubs. This is one guitarist to keep an eye on.
