About the Lion's Roar Athletic Association:
The Lion's Roar Athletic Association (LRAA) is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the traditional Tibetan and Chinese martial arts. Emphasis is placed on understanding the basic foundations and realistic combat applications of all techniques. All students are regulated through the Shizi Hou Ti Yu Hui and the Bai He Hui of Hong Kong to ensure the quality of all members.
Questions and Answers:
Q: What is the youngest age you will accept?
A: 5 years old and up, as long as the child can show proficiency in performing the basic movements.
Q: I have heard that martial arts are difficult to study and require a great deal of coordination, stamina and are high impact. Do you offer beginner courses or low impact courses for the elderly or out of shape?
A: Yes, we are willing to work with the individual to slowly introduce and integrate them into the regular courses, as well as enhance what they seek to learn from the martial arts.
Q: Do you offer private lessons?
A: Yes, private lessons are available upon request, but are limited.
Q: Do you offer fitness courses as an alternative to the physical applications of the regular courses?
A: Yes, we offer courses for individuals that are looking only for health and fitness aspects of the art as compared to combat proficiency.
Q: Why should I study martial arts?
A: Martial arts study is good for many aspects of every day life, whether it be improving physical fitness, improving confidence and self-esteem, developing discipline, improvement to memory, improving health or keeping in shape during the off season of your regular sport.
