The name Shin Jyo relates to “Way of Life” - not that of the directors or some laid down guidelines, but quite simply that of each Unique Individual.
No two people are the same and within today’s environment there is indeed very little available which gives the individual the opportunity to feel unique. This is where Shin Jyo is different, we recognise that it is important for the individual to enjoy, achieve and develop within the class, studio or seminar environment; however we also believe it is more important what the individual takes away with them. The quality of life searched for by many individuals is achievable and feedback from our clients in how practising Shin Jyo has helped them in their everyday life has been phenomenal.
Shin Jyo’s unique programmes are different because they are based upon the most fundamental need of all – oxygen. Breathing is the most fundamental part of healthy living - the basis of everything we do and our programmes reflect this. They are structured to ensure that the body is sufficiently oxygenated whether it is to undertake our Explosion, Wave or Flow programmes, not only enabling the client to maximise their potential but most of all, enjoy what they are doing. The health and safety aspects of our programmes recognise that a pro-active person is less likely to incur an injury than a reactive person. Unlike other exercise movements where breathing is a reaction to movement of the body, the individual through practising Shin Jyo is encouraged to ensure movement comes from breathing. This ensures oxygen levels are maintained to such a degree that working on residual air is avoided wherever reasonably practical, thereby reducing the risk of injury and fatigue.
It is changing mind-set and attitude positively.
