THE SHEFFIELD & DISTRICT BULLDOG CLUB
WELCOME TO THE SHEFFIELD & DISTRICT BULLDOG CLUB'S WEB PAGE, WE HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR VISIT.
The Sheffield & District Bulldog Club began as a 'Gentlemans Only' Club in 1910. The original venue for the meetings were in Howard Street Sheffield. Well into the late forties the Bulldog which was etched on the glass windows could still be seen. Even the Town Hall in Sheffield has in it's stone frieze a man walking a bulldog. The first bulldog ever to go in the Kennel Club Stud Book was Adam who belonged to Jacob Lamphier of Sheffield and his son Fred Lamphier became one of the earliest and most influential breeders of the town.
