Welcome to Sharon Douglas` Dancing brushstrokes.
My name is Sharon Douglas, I am a full time professional artist, tutor, demonstrator and professional associate for the Society of ALL Artists (S.A.A.) who works in ALL mediums, my main love is watercolour.
I have appeared on ITV 1`s "A brush with fame", and I have had a painting featured in Leisure Painter magazine in January 2006.
In 2007 I began writing articles for the magazine, LEISURE PAINTER. My next article will be published in January 2008, and there are plans for several more that year too.
The one and only competition that I have ever entered was the SAA`s "artist of the Year competition" 2006, in which I was highly commended, out of tens of thousands other participants. I have won several awards for "Best in show" at local exhibitions.
I am fast becoming a well known international artist......I have sold works the length and bredth of the UK and have paintings in private collections in the USA, Canada, Prague and Australia to name but a few.
I am a resident artist at a gallery in Somerset, and I do several exhibitions throughout the year in the Northwest of England, this year I will also be exhibiting several works in Canada.
I am currently working on writing a book about watercolours, and I was recently commissioned to illustrate a collection of childrens books, which are due to be published soon.
I teach weekly art classes, do art group demonstrations and private one on one tuition, and I am also available to do private commissions.
