Inuyasha Character Information
- Inuyasha: Main Character, along with Kagome, is a half-demon or hanyou. With his mother a human, who died while he was young, and his father a demon, he has lived a very tough life and his, literally, demon brother doesn't help. Being half human Inuyasha is able to yield the sword, Tetsusaiga, that his brother Sesshomaru wants. Made of his fathers fang, the Tetsusaiga is said to possess the power to slay 100 Youkai(demons) with one swing.
- Kagome Higurashi: Kagome is the second main character in the series and travels back in time to find Inuyasha after she tumbles into a well behind the temple where she lives with her grandparents. Anyway she defeats a youkai using a purple light that comes from her hands, and when she crawls out of the well, she starts to run into the forest where her house used to be and finds Inuyasha pinned to a tree by a magic arrow shot by Kikyou that puts him in an eternal sleep. She revives him and so begins their journey. Kagome has her sixth sense ability and her ability to use the bow and arrow. Her miko (priestess) powers enable her to put holy attributes to her arrows which help her defeat youkai and purify the shards of the Shikon no Tama by just touching them.
- Shippou: Shippou is a young fox demon (kitsune youkai) from Inuyasha's time who lost his family to other demons. Fox demons are known for their shape-shifting abilities and how they like to play tricks. Shippou has another unique ability, Kitsune Bi or Fox Fire, which is a blue fire that he uses to attack.
- Miroku: He is on a quest to destroy Naraku for destroying his father. He is indeed a monk although he doesn't always follow the right path. If you didn't catch my drift, to put it basicly, he's a pervert. You'll probably catch that when on the series he askes every young woman he meets to bear his child. Not gonna go into it too far though so. Oh yeah, he's 19 though he acts much older.Miroku joins Kagome, Inuyasha, and Shippou after discovering that they all have a similar goal: find Naraku and defeat him, and that they already have Shikon fragments in their possession.
Miroku is very good with his holy powers and can 'sense' evil energy and is very talented at fighting with the staff he carries with him.
- Sango: Sango is a very pretty 16 year old taiji (youkai exterminator) who lives in the village of the Taiji with her younger brother, Kohaku and her father who is also the head of the village.Sango is skilled with two basic weapons, a katana, and her most noted weapon, the massive boomerang, Hiraikotsu which is made of the bones of youkai that have been killed. She also uses the help of her "pet" youkai, Kilala who is a flying fire cat-like creature.
- Kikyou: A very powerful priestess, she is Inuyasha's "girlfriend" and plays a very important roll in the story. She and Inuyasha were the first to fall victim to Naraku's evil trap. He used their love against eachother and seem like they were betraying eachother. Naraku secretly made Kikyou think that Inuyasha was going to use the Shikon No Tama to make himself a full demon instead of a human which he promised Kikyou he would use it for. Oh, by the way, Kikyou's job in life was to protect the Shikon No Tama from evil. Anyway, when the two met to duel, Kikyou had shot Inuyasha with a magic arrow imprisoning him in an eternal sleep. - Naraku: Naraku... where do I start on this weirdo? Alright, well, in short he's EVIL! He's the main reason the whole world's so messed up, the reason Kikyou died, the reason Miroku's got a hole in his hand, the reason Sango's family died, the reason Inuyasha slept for fifty years straight, and the reason that the whole story of Inuyasha is so interesting. Let's just put it this way, if Naraku wasn't around, the world would be oh so much less complicated. So, if you've not guessed, he's your bad guy. He was a soilder and was injured so badly that he could not recover. After Kikyou, yes Kikyou, tended his wounds he gained enough power to call forth hundreds of demons to eat his body in return that they give him a new one comosed of demons that was stronger than any the world has ever seen before.
- Kouga: He's the leader of the wolf demon tribe and one heck of a fighter. That's really it. He's not really a main character.
- And finnaly, the ever famous, Sesshomaru: This is the king of youkai on the show. He is Inuyasha's full-demon brother with a deadly attitude and looks to match. Not that he isn't the best looking there. He was chosen to yield the Tensaiga which can revive 100 creatures with one swing.He has a heart of stone that eventually wears to the point where, for an unbeknownst reason, he saves a little girl named Rin's life. He is my favorite out of all and the best plot maker ever.
