The purpose of our organization is to promote the memory of Col. Juan N. Seguin across Texas, and to inform the public at large about other Tejano heroes that have been forgotten in Texas history.
We feel that the name of Col. Juan N. Seguin should be known as well as other Texas heroes like Gen.Sam Houston, William Travis, Stephen F. Austin, and James Bowie. Col. Seguin was the only Tejano to have fought both at the Alamo and at the Battle of San Jacinto. He was ready to put his life on the line for freedom and victory over a tyrant. He fought for all Texans and we can thank him today for our ability to enjoy the freedom he fought for. Too often in our Texas history some names have been remembered, while others who fought as valiantly as those, have been ignored or forgotten. Hopefully this site will be a teaching aid and learning tool for everyone to understand how the Tejano played a big part in Texas history.
The S.D.H.P recognizes the value of education, and the organization will support funding and will stimulate private enterprises' awareness of much needed school supplies and uniforms by children in the communities across Texas.
The S.D.H.P will encourage the advancement of education and research through public libraries, Texas Archives Libraries, and other geneological sources. Also, as part of our misson to educate the youth about Texas history, we will be presenting portraits of Col. Juan N. Seguin to school libraries and public libraries across Texas. Our goal is to show the children that with the proper tools, there is nothing they can't have and through education, dedication and dignity they to can make this a better life for every one around them.

Cesar Chavez Parade Sat April 6,2002 Linda Seguin Garcia had the Honor of Having the niece of Cesar Chavez ride in the parade with us and other members of the Organization. She was a very lovely person she talked about how her Uncle Cesar worked to see that everyone that worked in the fields were treated with fairness. Cesar chavez was a leader in Human Rights. We have had the honor to be a part of the parade because of our ancestors great feats such as fighting for all freedoms. This is what the niece of Cesar Chavez said: "I think it is really a beautiful thing. I feel really honored to be here to see the community pulling together and remembering him on this day," said Maria Elena Chavez of Bakersfield, Calif., who came to Houston for the event.

We all should celebrate Oct. 27, as this is the birthday of Col. Juan N. Seguin. Juan Seguin believed that every person should be free and independent. Freedom was Col. Seguin's Legacy. He gave his all to see Texas, or Tejas, free. This honorable citizen showed that with courage, dignity and determination within ourselves we all can make
this world a stronger place for future generations.

These are my thoughts if I were Col. Juan N. Seguin and this is what I think he would say to his family, My beloved great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews, this is your ancestor Col. Juan N. Seguin. Join together to educate Texas and all people of the world about your ancestors and about what we did. I know what I did and it had to be done to make this a better and beautiful place to live and learn . So my family as you go, remember each of you have different talents, different dreams, and different destinations, yet we all have the power to make a new tomorrow. Be proud and stand tall. God Bless.

COL. JUAN N.SEGUIN
Was a Patriot and a Mason he held many positions thru out his life but I belief that his most out standing position was that of patriarch of the family. He had to do what he thought was right for all his family. As we all have done in one way are another to see our family thru the Tough times and thru the Good times. So we should all be Greatful for our lives today for it was all our forefathers wishes to see us live in Peace and Harmony. The event of September 11,2001 should be a reminder to keep our family close with love and Caring for you never know what lurkes in the Shadow's of our world. There are many who would try and Bad mouth anyone who try's to do what is right but we are not spiteful People. And we shall successfully complete our Task for no Tyrant will stop Us.
