Sam's Computer & Repair Shop's Business Plan
Introduction
My business will be Sam’s Computer & Repair Shop. I will sell all types of Computers. Also I plan to sell games, Repair computers, and all accessories for the computers. I will try the staff to be very nice and in hopes that I can make money. In this business plan I will talk about the marketing, Analysts, and an international expansion plan.
Business Description
My business will be sole proprietorship. I want to own the whole business by myself until my kids are older. I will get all the licenses that are require and make sure the building is up to code with the city. The reason why I want the building to be up to code is, so I will not be shut down. I truly think that I can help people to get computers. I will have a plan to help all rich, poor, and middle class people. Maybe not so much for the rich, you know they are the ones with all of the money now. I plan on to change into a corporation, so I may go international. Then I will open a store and make it almost like the first store that I open. Before I start to sell stocks I will be 55 shares for $1.00 each. I will still have control of the company if I do that.
My three departments are the games, Repair center, and the new and use computers. I’m planning to have one hundred people working for me. I known that’s a lot of people but, I want to have people in each department. Also I want the store to stay open 24hour and 7 days a week. I want three managers in each department. They will be in charge of one department. I will watch and make sure that no one is crossing the line; I want to have everyone like each other. My employees to deliver the computers that people order. With this service being done people will hopefully start to talk about our computers and service, they may tell people to check the store out.
When people buy computers, we will send the order at the end of the day. In hope it will get back to the store as soon as possibly. In the repair shop, we will keep track of every computer that needs parts or what as been use. So if wee need something we will order it as fast as possibly. Games I will Order them when I’m getting close of being out. Other businesses wait till the end of the week or the end of the month to order games, computers, or parts. That right there will make the store stand out.

Marketing Plan
Price
When selling Computers, the price will matter. I want people to and not afraid because of the price. They can customize their own PC. We sell all types of games to meet people’s gaming needs. Also, they can upgrade their PC and put in a DVD. We sell all types of extra things for PC’s. In the Repair Shop, we fix all types of PC’s. We will try to get it fix within one or two days Max. Look at Appendix #3 for the Price range.
Place
The business would be in Jefferson City. I thought the store would be easy to locate in Jefferson City. In addition, it would help the consumer if the help desk were near the door. Plus people can ask for help if needed and the diagram shows it. The repair shop is big because they need to have room to work on things. The Loading Dock is for computers to come to my store and I will customize peoples PC and then send it out. Look at Appendix #2 for the Floor Plan.
Packaging
The business will package the computers that are going out to the people that bought them, so that no PC will get damage. I will have my logo and slogan. My Slogan is “We get it done the first time so, we do not have to do it the Second time.” My logo is still unknown. But I’m considering several different logos like American Flag, A Monitor, and a Very popular person. Now I will have games on all demonstration computers to attract people to use them. The most expensive PC will be located closest to the door with the most recent game on it. The chair will be the best we have in the store.
Promotion
I plan to promote my business by using TV, radio, commercials, donations, and community service. In addition, ads in newspapers and word of the mouth will also, help promote Sam’s Computer & Repair. In hopes, that my business will start off on the right foot and make some money. See Appendix # 1.
International Plan
Well I would have my store in Germany because I think it would just be a good place to have a store. Germany is still new to computers and I may have a chance to start a store over there. There are several different obstacles and some opportunities. Over in Germany, I would need to get close with the police and try to have them get to the store within minutes in case of a robbery. I would have different computers to sell in Germany and different versions of the Operating System and programs. The Currency exchange, cultural barriers, and people’s lack of knowledge on how computers work will be the main thing that will hold me back. Also I would have to find a way to get the European version of windows and their personal computers that are set for European Countries. My store would have to be at least six stories high. I would add more things to the store like a web page making and the best repair shop ever. Also I would sell all types of games of all formats. Any part that goes with a computer I would sell. I would start selling stocks in hope that I would start making money as Bill Gates does. That’s why I think having a store in Germany would a pretty good place to have a store.
Obstacle 1: Police and Fire protection
To start a store in Germany I would have to be pretty friendly with the police. In case someone tries to break in. I would have to pay the German government to let me put a big Computer store in Germany. I would have to put in the latest alarm system or make one up myself. Since I would be open 24-7 I would have to have security in the store. In case of anything happens to the store I want the police to be there in matter of minutes. I would have to be pretty friendly with the fire department too. In case of a fire I want them to be there to put it out fast. I would help them raise money and donate computers to the police. Those are my obstacles I would have to over come to keep a store in Germany. Having the police and fire department watching over the place to make sure nothing happens makes it a lot easier. It is good for business to have police stop by and talk. People see that you’re friendly with the police and the community they may stop in and see what you got. Plus you can use the police to help bring in business. The government would or may give me help to open more stores in Germany. My business would decrease the unemployment rate and increase the money value. Also, with a web page design floor can help the government Police the web and may bring the crime rate down.
Obstacle 2: Currency Exchange
The currency exchange rate will be different every day and will be hard to tell if the store or stores are making money. The accounting books will be done every day and each month the books will be converted into American Dollars. The numbers will be in a book not on a computer because people can see which store is making more money and I just like to see the numbers in a book. Each day the exchange rate changes so each day they will write down the exchange rate for that day. They will enter the numbers on a computer that is set up with the main central store in the United States. They will send the numbers to the main store and then they will convert the numbers into American Dollars. At the end of each month they will compare the numbers, hopefully they make money, and they match up. If not they will double check the books and hopefully they get it to even out. The price of the computers will be different because of the currency rate and the other computer stores in the area. So the prices of computers in the United States and the price of Germany’s computers could be different or the same. I would have to train and teach people to use the computers right with out messing up the computers. Also there will be different rules and guidelines that all the stores must follow. They will have different uniforms to wear that will represent the stores in Germany. Also I must find a reasonable rate to pay people so I will not get into trouble with the law and people would be making a reasonable salary. I pay the employees every 2 weeks. So I will not have to pay so much at once and people could make a better living. It is pretty hard to live off of a monthly pay check.
Obstacle 3: Language Barriers
Having a store over in Germany would be almost impossible to have American people trying to sell a computer to a person that does not understand English. So I must have people that speak that language and understand what the people want. The staff would have to work very hard to please the people and the consumer. All of my staff will have to speak German. The Operating System would have to be in their language. All of my signs and my commercials must be in German. I would have to come up with a symbol to represent the stores in Germany. Pretty much all of my things would have to be in German.
Obstacle 3: German Cultural Barriers
Well Germans hate outsiders to come in and start a business. Also, they let dogs run almost anywhere. The people have two ways to speak German. So I must be preparing for that as well. Also, the people are gaining more rights and are demanding higher pay. I would have to find a good salary to start people on. Also, I must put 624 DM in an account for each person each year. So when they retire they can have money to live on. And then maybe they will start to like my store and then start to demand more stores in their country. I would have a small place to have art to be shown. That will help to bring people in and look around. Hopefully people come in and buy computers.
Obstacle 4: Location
I will have my store Berlin, the capital of Germany. The most population is in Berlin. With my luck I would have to hire a lot of people and hope that more people in and see the computers. Hopefully they buy some to. The location has a big effect on a business. If the location is too far or in a bad place, people may not come. So I have to pretty good on picking pretty good lot. Also the building itself must look good and not mess up the natural look of the place. So I must have a designer for Germany to design the building.
Opportunity 1: Money
I would be able to make more money because I would sell stocks. Also I will be a corporation and the board that will lead the company will be me and my family. It would keep the stores in the family. Plus the copyrights will have to be updated. I would also help schools and police department to get computers and maintain them. Then people will start to buy more because I help the community. I can use the money to open new stores and may start another business. The new business would just make new software, programs, and new computers for my business. So maybe later I can be almost like Microsoft, gateway, Dell, and others. I would have my own design for them to.
Opportunity 2: Name of company would spread around the world.
The name of my company would get around that it is a place where they do not cheat people. They only help and more people would buy my product. Other people around the world would hear about my company and want to buy or open a store in their town. I would use this to open more stores and become richer. Also, I will make my own type of computers. My computers that I will make will be better then Gateway or X Technology.
Conclusion
The business plan for Sam’s Computer & Repair Shop has a clear guide line that the stores will follow and in hopes it will become big as Microsoft. As the store gets bigger and makes more money the store will improve their services. Also, add more departments or even start its own research and design business. They will then try to make new computers, so I can start my own type of system to sell. I think the store is a good thing to invest money into and get money back by selling stocks. As a result, Sam’s Computer & Repair Shop will get start and make it all the way to the top.
