Welcome Everyone to The Love Page of Sandy and Scott!
This page was developed so that we might be able to show the world even disabled people fall in love.What's so unusual about that you ask? People with disabilities like Sandy and I have will never be able to pledge our love before God and our families in a wedding ceremony without risking the loss of our Social Security benefits. You see, once we marry, the Federal Governmentno longer sees females, in this case Sandy, as benefactors in thier disability payments, as if she is suddenly healed. My goodness! Her benefits are completely removed including her Medicaid,her Social Security and her Medicare which takes care of all her medicine and doctor visits. She also loses all her Food Stamp privileges. I become her sole care giver. I, however, would retain my benefits of Social Security and Medicare plus a 21 hour a week work schedule at the local Mcdonald's. Sandy would have no way of getting aid if she were to become hospitalized or terminally ill. The money just wouldn't be there. Thus, we wont and cannot marry until Congress decides to look at our problem, as well as others, for what it is: NEGLECTION OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS FOR THE DISABLED. It is a human issue. Please help us keep the Social Security we receive as single people the same once we marry. DON'T DISABLE US ALL OVER AGAIN ONCE WE MARRY PLEASE!! Remember anyone can become disabled at anytime.
