Duncan Idaho

Who will you know,
Duncan Idaho?
What will you lack,
when they bring you back?
Where will you go,
Duncan Idaho?
When you come to the end,
will they bring you back again?

In those days,
they all knew your name.
Men would follow
where you would lead.
Your flashing blades
brought honor and fame;
and none could match
your skill and speed.

untitled picture

Deadly knife and deadlier sword--
in your eyes, war was a dance.
A loyal fighter serving your lord;
a victim of his circumstance.

Who will you know, Duncan Idaho?
What will you lack when they bring you back?
Where will you go, Duncan Idaho?
When you come to the end,
will they bring you back again?

Time passes slow for Duncan Idaho.
Is it just a stage when they never let you age?
All that you know was many years ago.
Are you friend or foe, Duncan Idaho?

With cat-like grace, you held them at bay:
your enemies were everywhere.
Your flat, dark face was turning away;
blood was in your goat-black hair.

Many fell just bringing you down--
You saved your friends by buying them time.
Maybe you should have never been found
and forced to make that awful climb...
