-Round trip airfare on EgyptAir direct, non stop JFK/Cairo/JFK: 2 meals on board each way.

-11 nights Hotel accomodations in double occupancy room:
3 nights including Egyptian style breakfast buffet daily at 3 star Victoria Hotel, centrally located hotel in Cairo. (This is the same hotel the staff of Scheherezade Imports has stayed in when visiting Cairo since 1983.)
8 nights at the 5 star Mereidian Resort Giza or Mena House Oberoi Giza including breakfast buffet each morning
-Fully escorted for all included activities. You will have the services of an licensed, knowledgeable English speaking government licensed guide on all included siteseeing tours in Egypt.
-Power Shopping 101-On the day of our arrival, after check in at our hotel, shop-til-you-drop as only we know how to do it!!!--- escorted by the staff of Scherezade Imports. Agency bus transport to the Khan El Khalili and late lunch at Nagib Mahfouz Coffee House and costuming shopping in the bazaar.
-Full day site seeing tour of Egyptian Museum, Sahladin Citadel and other historic sites in Islamic/Old Cairo. Transport by agency tour bus, government licensed tour guide, entrance fees to all sites included. Lunch at downtown restaurant included.
-power shopping 102: 2nd full day of power shopping and exploring great shops and local atmospheric eateries for lunch and dinner-included.
-Full day siteseeing at the Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx and Sakkara, transport by agency tour bus, government licensed tour guide, all entrance fees.
-attend evening performance of Whirling Dervish at Citadel-private agency transportation provided.
-Evening Summer Parties(Haflas with live music/dancing) on the 2nd through 5 nights of the festival.
--Dutch treat evening dinner cruise on the Nile Maxim or Nile Phaoroh Dinner Cruise Boat depending on who is dancing, where and when.
-Daily afternoon optional excursions for 6 days during the days of the festival (while a guest at the Conrad)to be led by the staff of Scheherezade Imports-we will post outings/special shopping adventures daily based on the interests of the group-note that these optional outings will take place concurrently with the various classes at the festival---so plan your class schedule carefully! We will work with the group to plan optional outings to minimize, as best we can, any conflict with the most popular classes.

-Full Day tour: Morning walking tour of Old Cairo from Bab Zuwyela to the Northern Gate, and a tour of the recently restored 14th century home: Beit al Suheiymi, then by agency bus to Coptic Cairo to visit the ancient Christian and Jewish Quarters. The tour will be led by a licensed agency guide. Don't forget your cameras for this tour!!!!! You will be transported back centuries as you walk through history.
Optional activities depending on the interests of the group:
-Dutch-Treat Adventures: Advanced Power-Shopping here there and everywhere/Journey Adventures. We will plan these excursions based on group interest, they may include but not be limited to-shopping on "the old side", exploring the Khan in depth, "downtown for the shoe shopping freaks" , The WTC Mall (way upscale designer shopping), DowntownBookstore Jaunt with Scheherezade(for great books, prints, postcards and such), and if there is enough interest maybe a run up to Kerdassa to go rug shopping. Want to explore the outdoor markets of Mohammed Ali Street with Scheherezade? And for the very brave---- an "I can't believe you ate that!" adventures of eating from the street vendor carts. Try your hand on the Egyptian Subway? Powershop at the costume shops and factories. Off the beaten track museums and historic sites, great old neighborhoods, and other adventures for those on a journey, not for the tourist!!!!! We have been there, and it is our pleasure to share these with you.

Payment options:
Money order, US check drawn on a US branch bank only,VISA AMEX MC OR DISCOVER. We also accept Paypal payments or international bank wire tranfers.
Payment Policies:
A $500 nonrefundable deposit will hold your reservation prior to April 20. To take advantage of the April 20 early bird discount, you must have made your $500 deposit by April 20th and paid in full by May 1, 2005.
Any trip reservations made after April 20, will require a $1000 non refundable deposit with payment in full by May 10, 2005.
Any trip registrations made after May 1, 2005 must be paid in full at the time of the reservation.
If you have an active membership in the Scheherezade Imports Buyers Club as of Jan 1, 2005 and your membership will be still be active through June 2005 you will qualify for an additional discount on the cost of your trip.
****Pay in full for Options 1 or 2 by April 1, 2005 and you will receive a ticket to the Opening Gala the evening of June 27, 2005....this is a $60 value...if you do not book by April 1, 2005 and want to attend the Opening Gala you will need to pay the opening gala fee directly to Raqia Hassan if you plan to attend.*****
There are no refunds or credits given unless the trip is cancelled by Scheherezade Imports. Please note that we will require a minimum of 6 participants for the trip. Should we not meet the minimum of 6 we reserve the right to cancel and we will refund your entire payment made to date, including any deposits. (We have never had to cancel a previous trip-this is our 4th annual trip to the festival).
Items not included in the price of any option:
meals, acitivities and admissions, fees not specifically identified as included in the packages described above, any food or beverage items not part of the meal packages that were preselected for the group inclusive meals , personal purchases, incidentals, transportation charges for items not specifically identified as included in the tour packages, any and all items listed in the Optional Add on activities for tour#1 or #2, any items listed as DUTCH TREAT or optional, bottled water/beverages/meals not specifically noted as included in the tour packages noted above, alcoholic beverages, cost of obtaining a tourist visa for ARE(Egypt), cost of obtaining a valid passport, cost of obtaining medical insurance or care while on the trip, taxis, any transportation not specifically listed as included in your package, tips, gratuities, additional taxes or fees either in the US or Egypt related to the import or export of goods for personal or business use and and all items not expressly indicated as included in options #1, #2 or #3 above.

The cost of the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival (except the opening gala as noted above for those who book their option #1 or 2 trip with us prior to April 1, 2005)
Information about the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Dance Festival:
-the festival is sponsored by Madame Raqi'a Hassan of Cairo, Egypt. All fees for the festival: including galas and classes are payable directly to Madame Raqi'a Hassan.
-The Festival includes the following and you may select the classes and shows you wish to attend, menu style.
Shows:
Gala Opening show featuring Dina and other famous Egyptian dancers June 27, nightly shows June 28-July2 during the festival featuring Festival participants(yes that means you if you so choose!). You will be dancing to a live Egyptian band. At the opening and closing galas there will be lot's of surprises: previous Festivals have featured, Dervish, Zar, Zeffa, Ghawazi, Dancing Horses etc etc.
In 2004 there was also a dance contest and should that prove to be the case again this year, you have the option of participating in that as well!
Workshops: Daily June 28-July 3, 2005
Simultaneous specialized workshops will be given by leaders of each respective style, in addition interesting lectures about the history and change in Oriental Dance through the years will be presented. Here is your chance to learn and improve your skills in our ancient art and to see, meet, and network with Oriental Dance lovers from around the globe and the some of the worlds most famous Oriental Dancers.

June 28-July 3, 2005 Projected Workshops and Teachers (subject to modification-if you sign up for one of our tour options we will keep you abreast of any changes. You will confirm your class selections ON SITE at the festival on June 27th...exact dates and times of classes will be available at that time only.

The exact schedule of classes and teachers will be finalized just prior to the festival and each participant will fill in his/her exact class schedule "menu style" at festival registration on the afternoon of June 27th. At registration you will also be able to sign up to dance at one of the evening Summer Party shows. You will have the opportunity to select the night you want to dance and the music you would like the orchestra to play for you.
