What is Divorce Mediation?
It is a process in which an impartial Family/Divorce Mediator helps parties seeking a divorce or legal seperation to make decisions about their children, finances and property.

What Happens in Mediation?
The mediator helps both parties work out and explore all the options, and to reach an agreement that is usually put in writing. This is not leagally binding. Parties are able at any stage to take legal advice, they are encouraged to consult a lawyer about the final agreement, which is formalized into a legally binding document.

Why Choose Mediation?
Mediation Makes Sense.
It helps people to exchange views, information, listen and be heard, reach their own decisions, reduces conflict and children whose parents reach an agreement through mediation are more secure, less distressed and more secure.

Mediation Is Voluntary and Confidential.
Mediation is entirely confidential except when some one is at risk of harm. Either party can use the financial information if there are court proceedings. However, discussions trying to reach agreements are without prejudice and are therefore legally privileged.

Mediation Is Quick.
Mediation sessions usually last between one and one half-hours. THe number and frequency depends on the complexity of the issues and the pace which the parties feel comfortable. On the average between three and six sessions are required.

Mediation is Convenient.
Mediations are less expensive than attorney fees. Costs range from $150.00-$300.00 per hour. Often appointments can be made for the same day and there are more flexible hours to work within the parties timeframe. However the initial consultation is free for the first one half-hour.

Mediation Is Non-Adversarial.
It is a process which an impartial third party assist in finding a mutually acceptable solution to their disputes.

Mediation Is Respectful.
Parties are treates with mutual respect and impartially.

I have over 27 years of experience as a social worker, administrator, educator, consultant, and facilitator/trainer in the field of Mediation. My specialized service is Family/Divorce Mediation.
