There have been great strides to help those with dyslexia improve themselves and
overcome this learning disability. Dyslexia is a “brain-based” learning disability
that confuses those when it comes to reading, writing and math problems. The
word “dyslexia” itself is a Greek word meaning “difficulty with words.” Many

Because dyslexia seems to wait until we are adults to show itself, the truth is that
we were born with this learning disability. While we are in the womb, our brains
were wired a bit differently than others and it is something we will never grow out
of. Our symptoms actually came out during grade school age. However, because

even the simplest of math problems, children become self conscience and
frustrated with themselves. Many children see themselves as dumb or stupid

school.

children suffer from painful ear infections more that other children seem to. If it’s
important to you to find out, ask your parents if they suffer from dyslexia. This
learning disability is handed down from a close relative who may or may not know
they too have dyslexia. Do your parents say things like, “I’m not a reading person
cause I’m not good with words,” or “I just don’t have a head for numbers.” This
could be signs of dyslexia. If any of this sounds a bit familiar to you, then a
dyslexia test may be just what is needed for you to find out if your dyslexic or not.
