Manjushri Thangka

Bodhisattva Manjushri

Manjushri is the embodiment of all the Buddhas' wisdom. He brandishes the sword of discriminating intellegence in his right hand and holds the stem of a lotus that supports the text of the Transcendent Wisdom Sutra. He sits in meditative posture with his two legs crossed.

This painting is made in Nepal by a traditional Thangka painter. The frame brocade is from India, silk cover is from China and is framed by a Tibetan tailor.
