Sabrina's Vanity Box

A few words of Caution!

This site is still very much under development, and isn't quite how I thought I'd designed it. Let's face it, it's .... B O R I N G .... I'll work on it when I have time ~ maybe even splash out and put in a few pictures and graphics ~ but until then, please accept my apologies! And my many thanks for taking the trouble to visit.

ME:~
I’m of Anglo/French decent, the daughter of a vicar and an ex-actress ~ she’s the French half of me ~ and my parents are still very unfashionably in love. I have a half-brother two years older than me who is in the Navy, and he's my hero. And I have a first cousin who was borne at almost exactly the same moment as me ~ we’re psychically linked and she is my spiritual twin. In fact, she’s the daughter of my mother's identical twin sister and she lives 120 miles away in London, but we chat incessantly on the phone every day. Though not so much alike to look at [she's the really pretty one] we're SO as one in our likes and dislikes, our ways and our hopes and dreams, and spiritually we're closer than any two sisters could ever be, and what is true for me, is true for her also. By today’s standards, I guess that mine is an excruciatingly close and boringly loving family. I’m 63 inches tall, I weigh 105lbs, I have long blonde hair and green eyes, I’m slim and very curvy [36-22-36] and I'm very pretty I guess, with no tattoos or piercing or surgical enhancements whatsoever, and I’m disgustingly healthy and [arguably] normal and well adjusted I think[?] I'm single and unattached ~ literally 'sweet 22 and never been kissed' ~ well, kissed maybe ~ but yes, I’m still a virgin, don’t laugh! ~ lol ~ and with no boyfriend in sight even! My family say I’m simply too choosy and I guess they’re right, but what’s wrong with that I ask? ;) Anyway, I’m always open to offers ;)

As with my cousin, one thing that may be putting potential suitors off is that people say that I'm a witch [and they did so long before that silly TV show, which I'm seriously thinking of suing for 'identity theft' ~ lol] It's true that from our mothers, we have acquired the knowledge to grow and prepare herbal remedies for common ailments ~ these cures are invariably successful and so we rarely need to visit a pharmacy ~ and we also have the powers of telepathy, second sight and touch-healing that even we don't understand and are quite eerie! But then, our mothers have these powers too, as do all the female descendants of our line ~ so don't mess with us or we'll turn you into a frog ~ cackle, cackle, cackle! Sometimes, we play on this mystical reputation we've acquired, by casting spells and enchantments 'just for fun' although they're not always quite as successful as our remedies! ~ hee hee hee.

I live quietly and alone in a small but quite smart apartment in Bristol that I inherited from my grandfather. I also inherited his Lotus 7 which is my pride and joy. I have a horse named Pegasus, a dog named Mutt and a 17 foot sloop named after me ~ the 'Sabrina Jay'. I’ve also just completed the fitting out of my inherited and truly beautiful 30 foot cutter ~ she is the big sister to 'SJ' ~ an ambitious project sired by my late grandfather that was six years in gestation, but now she's launched, the Scillies, Ireland, Normandy/Brittany and even the Schleswig fjords of Germany are my cruising playground. Sailing is my life!

I work in an estate agents office on general admin and reception duties, where I also research and seek out suitable properties to client's specific requirements, and then often accompany them on viewings. It’s not very glamorous, sophisticated or exciting work, but then neither am I overly sophisticated, glamorous or exciting, and thankfully, neither is my job excessively demanding on my limited intellect! Anyway, I quite enjoy my job for most of the time, and it pays the bills and comes with a nice company car. And several evenings a week, I also do bar work and waitressing down at the local pub to help pay for the cherry on top of my cake! I’ll probably never be wealthy, but I do get by most of the time. Anyway, I’m an eternal optimist and a hopeless romantic, and on the whole, I’m very happy with my [boring?] life.

MY FAVOURITE THINGS:~

The two public figures I most admire are Margaret Thatcher and the physicist Stephen Hawking because both in their own ways have changed forever the way we look at the world we inhabit. My favourite author is Stephen King, my favourite film is ‘The Deer Hunter’, my favourite literature/film genres generally are science fiction/fantasy and/or horror, my preferred music genres are the classics and also big band jazz/swing. I love the music of Bix Beiderbecke and Basie, my favourite vocal artists are Katherine Jenkins, Anna Natrebko and Beth Gibbons. Oh yes, and my favourite actor is super cool Johnny Depp. I hate ball games in general but sometimes enjoy watching rugby and tennis if England is doing well ;) I follow F1 avidly and my ‘sporting’ hero is Michael Schumacher even though he isn’t English ~ lol. I like soft pastel colours, especially lilac, and also: wild flowers, the smell of roses, herbs, horses and the ocean, also the taste of almost all sea food [except squid!], whilst my favourite beverages are Earl Grey tea, freshly ground Colombian coffee and also a good single malt Scotch whiskey. My great vanities are my complexion and my hair [which I wear very long] and on the whole, I’m entirely at ease with my outward appearance and my inner self. I prefer animals to most of my fellow humans, and my favourite vacation locale is the Aegean. But I wouldn’t be happy living anywhere else but in England.

MY LEISURE PERSUITS:~

I play guitar, but only where no one can hear me! On the other hand, I'm a SUPERB cook and see NO reason for false modesty there ~ lol. My grandmother was a master jeweller/enameller, and she taught me some of her skills, so to relax, I make one-off pieces of jewellery just for fun. I also make many of my own clothes, and I enjoy fashion and ~ take a deep breath ~ cinema and reading, mild flirting, keep-fit and Yoga, swimming, surfing and sail-boarding, tennis, squash, dancing, and skiing, skating, walking and riding on Dartmoor, sailing my 17’ sloop down on the South Devon coast, working on the awesome 'Sabrina Jay Delaney' when I have the time and funds [!], tweaking, polishing and preening, and then driving my [inherited] and 'heavily breathed upon' Lotus 7. That hairy little brute has a tuned Daimler 2.5 litre hemi engine that delivers 300+ hp and ‘glued down’ tyres/suspension, and it can outrun just about ANYTHING on winding country roads [or with a heave foot on a wet road, it can have one facing in the opposite direction faster than one could imagine!] To sum up, I try hard to live every day as if it were my last [and any of my ‘Lotus-days’ might well be ~ lol] and I try VERY HARD not to offend people in the process.

MY TWO FAVOURITE SMART-ARSE QUOTES:~

Learn as though you are going to live forever, but live as though you are going to die tomorrow.

Love your enemies, because that really pisses them off big time ;)

No, I didn't say that I was boring. Some [unreasonable] people tell me that they think my life is boring. And this site is VERY, VERY boring ~ I agree. But I'M Miss Dynamite! ;)~

Thanks again for visiting me here ;*
