The waters around Puerto Galera are rich in corals and manifold
marine life. The best divesites are located around Lalaguna Beaches
and Escarceo with approx 25 sites in the area with wonderful colors
and plentiful aquatic life. All divesites are only 10 to 15 minutes
away from the divecenter. All dives are made from boats in groups of
around 4 to 5 divers. Divesites vary from shallow dives with plenty
of colorful coral life at depths between 10 to 18 meters, and deeper
dives down to 40 meters with an exciting amount of reef sharks, schools
of barracudas, sweetlips, groupers, tuna and other large deep water fish.

Some of the popular divesites include:

The Canyons (27 m), Shark Caves (25 m), Hole in the Wall (12 m),
Fish Bowl (40 m), West Escarceo (18 m), Dungon Wall/Dungon Wreck (24 m),
Monkey Beach (16 m), Coral Gardens and Manila Channel (6 m to 16 m),
Jap Wreck (42 m), Verde Island Drop Off (12 m to 42 m)

The easiest way to go to Puerto Galera is to catch the SiKat Bus at
the CENTREPOINT HOTEL at 1430 Mabini Street, Ermita in Manila.
The bus is leaving to Batangas daily at 9:00 am from the Hotel and
goes straight to Batangas.
Once you are at the Batangas pier, the SiKat Ferry is waiting for the
bus, so there is no danger of missing the boat.

The ferry arrives at Puerto Galera, but you still have to get to where
you are going, which is, when you're diving with Action Divers,
Small Lalaguna Beach just around the corner. If we know you are coming,
we will arrange for you to be met at the ferry and have a Bangka waiting
to bring you round to the diveshop.

There are other bus services from Manila to Batangas and other ferries
from Batangas across to Puerto Galera. The bus trip from Manila to
Batangas will take around 2,5 to 3 hours (depending on traffic) and
the ferries will take 1,5 hours to bring you to Puerto Galera.

Ferryservices Batangas - Puerto Galera (Departure times)
to Sabang: 9:30, 10:30, 12:00, 14:30
to P. Galera: 11:30, 12:00 (SiKat), 15:30
to Balatero: 8:30, 12:30, 17:00

Ferryservices Puerto Galera - Batangas (Departure times)
from Sabang: 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 11:30
from P. Galera: 7:00, 9:30 (SiKat), 13:00
from Balatero: 5:30, 10:30, 14:30

Other alternatives:

If you wish to make your own arrangements, you can hire a car or a small
six-seater van in Manila to take you down to Batangas for about P1,800
depending on the vehicle and how much the driver reckons you will pay.
A Bangka from Batangas will cost you approx. another P1,500. The good
ones will do the crossing faster than the ferry every time. If you are
going to do this, the smart move is to speak to us at Action Divers in
advance - we will help by sending a boat over to pick you up.

Lastly it is possible to hire a small seaplane that will land on the water
and drop you at the end of the pier between Sabang and Small Lalaguna.
That will set you back US$ 350, but you can get three passengers in the
plane and split the bill accordingly.
