Proof That Pro Lifers Are Idiots
In 1999 The Onion, a satirical web journal, published an article called “I’m Totally Psyched About This Abortion!” The article was painfully obvious satire. Painfully obvious except to the mentally challenged, or right to life (until you’re born) types. But I repeat myself.
A blog called “March Together For Life” quoted the article, and took the entire thing seriously. Basically, what happened (in this order) is:
1) The Onion article was quoted in the March Together For Life blog.
2) Over 1000 people sent in critical comments, telling the blogger that the original story was satire.
3) The blogger defended his position.
4) The blogger then said he knew it was a joke, and he was in on it.
5) The blog was moved to another host, and all critical comments were removed. All comments must now be approved before they are put up on the web.
6) Intelligent people around the world had a hearty gut laugh at that idiot’s expense.
