RSDS - Community: The Poetry of Pain
The poetry of pain is a web site that will help spread the information about RSDS/CRPS and let those with the illness express themselves through poetry or writing.
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome or as it is sometimes called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome causes extreme neurological chronic pain to those affected by this illness. The problems caused by RSD are more than just physical.
Financial, emotional and social problems can often times destroy the life of the person diagnosed with RSD. The costs of doctor visits, medications and other treatments can often exceed the small amounts of disability that some get. It is sometimes a choice of medications or paying household bill. The social issues that come are the person with RSDS/CRPS feels like a burden to friends and family and this can lead to isolation and depression. And in some cases this depression has lead to suicide.
The reason I have put together this web page is to make more people aware of this rare illness and the emotional problems that come from the chronic pain, insomnia and other physical effects of RSDS/CRPS.
