OUR PURPOSE: Community disaster response must include seniors, persons with disabilities, medically fragile children, and other special needs* populations…. we offer ways to help those who can't help themselves
("Special needs" and "vulnerable" populations are terms that generally refer to medically and socially fragile individuals and groups especially vulnerable to emergencies and disasters)
BACKGROUND: Our company answers a profound need for disaster preparedness development among all communities, including plans for bringing assistance to those most vulnerable to the effects of disaster. Examples include
- Seniors
- Persons with disabilities
- Medically frail children
- Others who may not have the means to care for themselves in times of emergency.
Our services include:
* Disaster Kits - Customized personal, family, and group kits that meet special needs in an emergency
* Consultation - Community organizing for specialized disaster response
· Non-profit organizations
· Government & emergency services collaboration
· Program development and emergent volunteers
· Schools
· Neighborhood Watch groups
· HAM radio clubs
* Training - Practical, specialized training that maximizes response capability in any given situation
· Small Groups (2-20) - Recommended size for skills development and practical exercises
· Larger Groups (20 - 100+) Recommended size for awareness and collaboration training
CURRENT NEEDS:
- We're looking for trainers, especially those with EMS and/or disaster planning background.
- Technical advisors in the areas of communications, software applications, database design & management.
- Grants to increase community disaster preparedness
- Collaboration opportunities with community-based, non-profit organizations.
