....And countless others

These companies would call Wander Bros.
And request an estimate for Refinishing
their Metal Office Furniture in the latest colors,
ranging from 25 to 500 pieces of furniture.
We "lacquered" their furniture, and
Manufactured and Installed New Laminate
Desk and Counter Tops for their Offices.
I was a "First-Born, 2nd Generation Wander Brother."
After spending several years at Lake Forest College,
Illinois, between 1966-1968, I returned to the
Wander Brothers Company for a Real Education
in the Ways of the Business World.
I was given an opportunity to enter a whole array
of companies, some were family businesses,
some were large corporations, and all were growing fast.
What a tremendous business education this was.
I was meeting Bank Presidents, Business Owners,
and the Purchasing Agents of Large Corporations.
Office Furniture Dealers would call us, Designers
and Architects would call us, to visit THEIR clients,
and represent them as we gave prices for our Refinishing.
Of course we had many satisfied customers,
but just as interesting, we had many many friends
from all over town, from all walks of life.
As a young man growing up after WWII,
I had the experience of watching America's
Engines of Free Enterprise starting to
pick up steam and propel our Great Nation
into the forefront of national and world commerce.
