Jackson’s People To Blame
We all know by now that Michael Jackson is mad at Sony Music for apparently not promoting his album, ‘Invincible’ and for reportedly refusing to release his charity single, ‘What More Can I Give.’ But now, according to The Los Angeles Times it was actually Jackson’s advisors and not Sony who put a halt to the release. Jackson’s people apparently wanted the single shelved after learning that the song’s executive producer, F. Marc Schaffel, had ties to the gay pornography industry, specifically directing and producing a number of films. Obviously this new information contradicts what Jackson has been saying all along and can only hurt the ongoing feud he has with Sony. Jackson’s representatives would not comment on the latest developments but did tell The Times that when they, and Jackson, discovered Schaffel’s background, they immediately ended their association with him.

Lance Bass Still Spaced
While it has been some time since we gave an update on the mission, aspiring astronaut Lance Bass hasn’t given up his fight for space flight just yet. According to the Associated Press, the *NSYNC singer flew to Russia’s Star City last week for preliminary training as well as talks that, according to the Russian Space Agency, have yet to result in a signed contract. However, more complications have arisen for the mission that the singing-space tourist is hoping to travel on. October’s International Space Station trip on Russia’s Soyuz rocket may need to be rescheduled, as NASA has recently grounded their space shuttle fleet. David Krieff, the TV producer who is hoping to shoot the excursion for a special, has been pushing for the mission more than anyone. According to reports, Krieff has sent out non-refundable deposits to “a variety of Russian parties” in order to keep the project alive.

Joey Fatone Pays His 'Rent'
*NSYNC’s Joey Fatone is set to make his Broadway debut on August 5th. The singer/dancer will breath new life into the long-running musical, Rent. Fatone who began rehearsals on Monday, will play the role of Mark Cohen, a video artist who documents the lives of his friends in New York in the early 1990s. To all those *NYSNC fans out there who want to catch Joey Fatone in the spotlight, he’ll be with the musical through to December 22nd at the Nederlander Theatre in New York. Fatone told the New York Times: "It's just a cutting edge kind of thing…it's nice to have a chance to play a character, not just be myself." This isn’t Joey’s first foray into the acting world. The *NSYNC member has been in the films, ‘Longshot,’ ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ and ‘On the Line,’ which co-starred *NSYNC’s Lance Bass.

Kylie Banned!
Owning a copy of Kylie Minogue’s, ‘Live In Sydney’ video could get you in big trouble in Malaysia. The video of the Aussie pop star performing in Sydney is one of 194 videos that have been banned by the Malaysian Film Censorship Board. No specific reason was given for banning the Kylie video, although a board chairman told Reuters that guidelines stated that, “distribution of films containing bad morals were not allowed.” Anyone found possessing, selling or distributing the video will be given a hefty fine or be jailed for three years, or both. Another band that has recently been banned in the country is Megadeth who are banned from performing in Malaysia and the album, ‘The World Needs A Hero’ was removed from record stores because the government said that the imagery was unsuitable.

"Ed The Sock!" Beats the Competition! - #1 Friday Night Late Night Show In The Toronto Designated Market Area!
Where Else but Citytv.
"The strongest, young male voice in Canada doesn't come from a real man, but from a sock puppet."
Edmonton Journal April 22, 2001
Citytv is proud to say "Ed the Sock!" beats the competition on Late Night TV in the Toronto Designated Market Area Friday Nights! This fall (September 24th, 2001 to December 2nd, 2001), "Ed" attracted 3-4 times the audience of its Friday night competition. Broadcast Friday nights at 11:35pm on Citytv, "Ed The Sock!" averaged a 1.6 rating and an 11.1 share of viewing against Adults 18-34 (Ed's core demo) viewing in the Toronto DMA. By comparison, "The Late Show with David Letterman" did a 0.5 rating and a 4.0 share in the same timeslot. "Open Mike with Mike Bullard", airing at 12:05am with a smaller available audience, draws a 0.3 rating and a 4.1 share.
Even with Adults 18+, "Ed the Sock!" is the top choice for late night entertainment in the Toronto DMA, averaging a 1.3 rating and a 6.5 share compared to "The Late Show with David Letterman" with a 0.8 rating and a 3.7 share. "Open Mike" draws just a 0.8 rating and a 10.5 share.* "We're home to the 'King of Late Night' and continue to be the station that brings you edgy, groundbreaking/original programming you won't see on other conventional channels," said Stephen Tapp, Vice-President and General Manager of Citytv.
"Hey, its a dream job .... rubbing elbows with celebrities and rubbing other things with porn stars," says the show's star, Ed the Sock.
The original 'man show', "Ed the Sock!" is a unique combination of biting laughs, one-of-a-kind celebrity encounters and sizzling sexuality. Ed unleashes his scathing wit on pop culture, politics, sex and a host of taboo topics while a squad of beautiful dancers shake their booty for the audience and a weekly parade of adult film and website beauties frolic in our hot tub. A favorite of Hollywood stars, Ed's hung out with Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, Nelly Furtado, Shaggy, NSync, The Rock, Wyclef Jean, Kid Rock, Traci Lords, Jenna Jameson, Lenny Kravitz, Ron Jeremy, Carmen Electra, William Shatner, James Brown and a host of other famous names. And unlike conventional talk shows, Ed's celebrity encounters take place in often intimate surroundings.
Tune-in and see the #1 Friday Night Late Night Show in Toronto! "Ed the Sock!" airs Friday night at 11:35pm on Citytv
