How many here is a soldier for Jesus Christ?
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life;
Think about this for a minute. You are in the midst of a war on the battlefield; you spot your Capt. or your sergeant; you begin to explain to him that you have a lot of other things to do today. Your to busy to fight today; you just don’t have enough time to do every thing you want to do; verses what you should be doing. Don’t laugh to much, Christians do it everyday. We don’t have time to pray; bible study is put off till later in the day, but bible study never comes. Daily devotions what is that?
Everyone here knows what I’m talking about. Way to many Christians are trying to fight the battle this way. You go too church on Sunday but on Mon – Sat. there just isn’t enough time.
2TI 2:4{B} that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
God has chosen you to be a soldier.
Paul said to the Ephesians:
EPH 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,{The territory ruled by a prince. Webster} against powers,{ talking about the power of evil in this world} against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I’m not going to start naming our politicians, or others that have rule over us thats not saved. If they have never been born again they are of the darkness of this world. Can you say Amen.
EPH 6:13{A} Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,
Some of us carry so much of everything else the armour is just too heavy for us.
Remember David when he went out to fight Goliath?
1SA 17:38 And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.
1SA 17:39 And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.
David was saying wait a minute I haven’t proved that I’m worthy to wear the kings armor.
SOMEBODY SAY WAIT A MINUTE!
David may not have realized it at that time but he was putting off the weights of this world and putting on the Kings armor. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
We need to do the same we need to lay aside every weight.
HEB 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
IT SAYS RUN THE RACE; HELLO SOMEBODY!
Some of us are having enough trouble walking at a slow pace; can you say Amen?
EPH 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
I do hope you all understand that this is a evil generation; a evil day that we are living in.
And having done all, to stand.
EPH 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, {Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life}and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
EPH 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
EPH 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
EPH 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
EPH 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
