My name is James R. Hochban,I was born in Moose Jaw,Sk. on Feb.8,1945. I was raised at Pasqua and attended school there until I graduated grade 8. Some of my teachers were(if I can remember),1.Miss Battle,2.Mrs Drage,3.Mrs Weweller,4.Mrs Reeve. I have had quite a few jobs including Heinz Foods and I was in the R.C.A.F from 1965 to 1969.I took my basic training at St.Jean Quebec,driver training at Camp Borden,from there I went to CFS Foymount. I was there until Oct.1969.
My last job was with ServiceMaster of Moose Jaw until a back injury ended my working days.
In 1994(Oct.28) I checked myself into the AA Angus Campbell Center(my second time).This time it worked, I haven't had a drink since.
I had 2 children,Lana born on Dec.27,1972 and James(Jimmy) born Apr.10,1974.
Their mother,Sharon Richmond and I split up in 1974.I had to quit my job to look after the two children. Social Services stepped in and placed them in foster care. (On November 26, 2003 Sharon's brother David Richmond and sister Arlene gave me the shocking news that Sharon had passed away the night before, she was 48)
I couldn't have asked for better people to take in the children. Their names are Ralph and Lillian Wadham.
Lana and Jimmy both had bad hearts and went through multiple heart operations.While in the recovery room,on November 16,1978, after his 4th heart operation,Jimmy passed away with his sister Lana recovering from her heart operation in the bed next to him.Jimmy was 4 1/2 years old.
Lana is now married and living in Toronto and has 3 children Tommy,Michael and Diamond.Her husband is Tom Meszaros.(Moving to Saskatoon SK. in June 2005)
Thanks to my landlady and her husband I was able to go to Toronto in Dec.of 2003 to visit my daughter(it had been 12 years since I saw her)and meet my grandchildren for the first time. I even got to spend some time with my sister Trudy.It was Trudy who arranged to have me picked up at the airport and drove me to Lana's place the next day It was the best Christmas gift I had ever recieved.
