Trying To Get Ahead
Hello Everyone,
My name is Regina and I created this website to do three things:
1. Keep me focoused on my goals and objectives
2. Receive advice on cleaning up my credit report and paying off student loans
3. As a career blog
I am 36 years old, will graduate with my second MBA in May and be about $108,000.00 in debt. The majority of my debt comes from student loans. The damage to my credit is extensive to say the least. I anticipate that it will take me all of four years to get it corrected.
I am prior military and I currently work civil service. I would like to advance to higher positions in management but most of the jobs that I could otherwise qualify for, my credit is stopping me. I want others, especially young adults to realize the damage that poor credit can cause. When I was younger, I didn't have anyone that was able to tell me about credit or saving money. I had to learn the hard way. Now I am devastated about the results.
My plan for now is to improve my credit history and make sure I pay everything on time and keep my accounts current. While doing that I am also trying to find ways to pay down some debt. My debt to income ratio is so bad that I won't even list it here. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions....I'm all ears.
My current income is about $40,000. Not enough to cover my current expenses and pay off the student loans but at least it is a start.
I will post my education background and resume here later. My hope in doing that is to get critical feedback so that I can improve my resume. I know I have skills and talent but I just don't know how to market them correctly. I am sure someone out there has a clue.
Until my next update......
Regina
