Inkheart - By Cornelia Funke - 534 pages, reviewed by Bookworm247: This is a good book, but takes time to get into. The book begins when Meggie and her father, Mo move away to live with an aunt of theirs. They are accompanied by a strange friend of Mo's named Dustfinger in the car. Dustfinger turns out to a man who can control fire, and puts on a show for Meggie. But when secrets are revealed about a mystical book and an evil villain, Meggie Has to use wits, courage, and bravery that she never knew she had before. Recommended for readers eleven and up.

Guardians of Ga'hoole series - By Kathryn Laskey - about 200 pages, reviewed by Addictedreader813: This is a great series that would appeal to readers who like out of the ordinary adventure. The book begins when Soren the barn owl gets pushed out of his nest by his evil brother, Kludd as an infant. After this, Soren is taken to St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls, where he escapes after a year of being there. After he escapes, Soren goes to rally an army to destroy the academy. But there's more to Saint Aegolius then meets the eye. Recommended for readers seven and up.

Where the Red Fern Grows - By Wilson Rawls - 249 pages, reviewed by Bookworm247: The book begins in the Ozark Mountains when a boy about ten years old wants a dog. But not just any dog, a hunting dog. So the boy saves up his money for five years and gets a pair of dogs but he had to walk for two days to get his dogs from the nearest town. A touching book filled happiness, adventure and sorrow, this book is for readers eight and up.

The boy later hatches the egg and is surprised to find a dragon! After, he sets out on a quest to seek revenge. Mixed with magic, adventure, and action, this book is recommended for readers ten and up.
