Established in 1841 by Fr. Pierre DeSmet who came in response to request for "Black Robs" by various Indian tribes of Western Montana and Idaho. First church in the Northwest. See restored Log Chapel/Residence, Pharmacy, Indian Museum, Cemetery, Park & Picnic Area, and Visitor's Center with gift shop, museum, art gallary and reference library. Open seven days a week 10 to 4 for tours from April 15 to October 15 at other times just The Visitor's Center with gift shop, museum, reference library hours Wednesday - Saturday 10 to 4 and Sunday 10 to 2.
