HACKY SACK(footbag)
What is Freestyle Footbag?
Is There a Style That Serves All Types of Kicking Well?
Freestyle footbag kicking is just that: FREE STYLE.
YES, there is a basic style for all kicking - Bloughchi.
With the Bloughchi style you can play a better net game, do better stalling tricks, and most of all you can develop your very own individual style - the keynote of freestyle. Developed by Steve "Danceman" Blough and named by his trainees, Bloughchi is over 20 years old. It has a specific stance, stresses stretching exercises, and encourages outside and back kicks. It also has a philosophy and is supported by a research paper that documents the positive fitness and mental acuity of eye-foot coordination created by footbag kicking as well as the positive social aspects of doing it in a non-competitive environment. The Blougchi style provides a sound basis for any type of footbag kicking and works well for informal and formal venues.

BASIC TRICKS
1. Outside Kick - When the footbag is falling on either the right or left side of your body, bring the respective foot up and strike the footbag with the outer side of your shoe...if your shoes have flat sides, you can place the footbag anywhere...kicking the bag a bit lower than normal adds power to the kick.
2. Inside Kick: When the footbag is falling in front of you, close to your body, strike the footbag with the inside of a foot...most shoes have a cavity on the inside surface and try not to kick it there because it throws the bag off course...after practice you'll make this kick by instinct.
3. Toe Flick: Master this with both feet and you can often connect with the footbag at the last moment... when the bag is very low to the ground, stand on one leg and bend the other at the knee...swing the bent leg forward and let the toe flick up at the bag keeping your ankle loose.
4. Toe Delay (Toe Stall): When the footbag falls in front of you, raise either leg up to meet the bag to let it impact on your toe gently...you can bend your support leg slightly to increase the cushioning effect but you don't really need to do that Basics.
