Quahadi Society (Friends of Copperbreaks)

Welcome and thank you for visiting our web site. We are a volunteer group dedicated to the presevation and growth of Copper breaks State Park. This park is an unknown gem of West Texas, but we want to make it the shining jewel of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department(TPWD). Copper breaks has tons to offer and give to all those who adventure out to the park. There is so much to see and do. The park has great hike and bike trails and we will be working to add new ones to the park. The park is a great place for Geocaching, for those who like treasure hunting. There is also the starwalk each month, where astronomers can come and see the night sky in all its splendor. The 2 lakes offer great fishing and wildlife observation.
Thanks to Austin and their inability to create a budget for the state, there has been drastic cuts in the budget for TPWD. These cuts have cost the parks numerous jobs and restricted services at the parks. Here the park is only open for day use till March when the park will resume overnight camping. To prevent this from happening in the future let's get vocal. Please write, email, or call you state representative and let them know you want to keep this park and all the other parks open for all services year round. We need your help to keep this great assest around for all to enjoy.
Thank you for visiting and send me an email and I will send you a letter that you can email or snail mail to your rep. I will also be adding the email links to our reps in Austin too.
