There is always the question, Where did Pyrotechnics originate. Some believe Italians were the first to manufacture Pyrotechnics in Europe, used them to mark great occasions. Though the credit for invention of Pyrotechnics goes to China, as so others believe Pyrotechnics originated in the 6th century China. We do know the Chinese perfected the art of making rockets and explosives with primitive gunpowder. The Mongols were believed to have introduced gunpowder to Europe in 1241 AD (Encarta, fireworks) Europe progressed faster than China in the development of Pyrotechnics. So by the 14th-15th century almost every country had its own version of Pyrotechnics.
