Olympian, statuesque mannequins appeared in fashion images with hairstyles and maquillage that (in their minimalism) emphasised this attention to the skin and its good health. The work of photographers such as Hoynigen Heune perfectly exemplifies the focus on the body and the serene spa atmosphere that was so influential in the 30s.
