George Washington is buried on his estate. Him and 20 other family were buried in what is called the old tomb. In his will he requested that a new tomb be built. So in 1831 George Washington and family were moved to the new tomb. When I went to Mount Vernon, I didnt get a chance to see the inside of the house because of the line being so long and it getting late. I did get to take a tour of Mount Vernon from the Potomic River and it was a very nice tour. It goes from where you pick the boat up, up to Fort Washington and back to where you picked the boat up. So if you go to Mount Vernon I recamend paying about 8 dollars extra for the river tour.
