In 1984 this adventure film of four boys who search for a hidden treasure. Find the house on the east end of town on 38th street.
Kindergarden Cop
Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in this 1990 film as an undercover cop pretending to be a kindergarden school teacher. Astor school is located on the east end of town.
"Free Willy"
This family adventure tells a story of a young boy and his friendship with a captured whale, 'Willy'. 14th Street dock was turned into a fish market for this movie. See if you can find the house on Harrison that served as the boy's family residence in the film. Hammond Mooring Basin is where Willy jumped over the breakwater in the first film.
"Short Circuit"
A 1985 film staring Ally Sheedy, Fisher Stevens and Steve Guttenberg. Sheedy,a restaurant worker, becomes friends with a high tech robot who believes he's alive. Hume street is the residence where Sheedy's character lived. The Astoria-Megler Bridge is prominent in the chase scene as some robots took a flying jump off it after being pursued by movie villans.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3"
Filmed the summer of 1992. This Ninja Turtles adventure goes back in time to 16th-century Japan. They are on a rescue mission for April, their friend. Most of the movie was shot at the old Navy hanger at Tongue Point. The sound stage is not open to the public. At the Desdemona Club, 2997 Marine Drive, you can still see where the Japanese warriors learned to play pinball.
